anaic: Hi, I was just wondering what types of small pets the devs had in mind if the Beast Mastery proffession is put into the game? Things like cats, birds, etc.?

Helios: The Beast Master concept is just that - only a concept. We're considering lots of things, including what kind of creatures to include. The concept is still at too high of a level to discuss details of that level. That being said, I would suspect a vast array of creatures to make the cut.

Jadaba: will spy be intagrated into the smuggler system like you had planed if so then how

Addy: In Chapter 4 we are delivering the expertise for the spy which hopefully you have seen the trees and actually played a little on TC.
You will find several cool new things spys can do both in and out of stealth, more damage, speed bursts, cloaked healing just to name a few

tiveria: What is the timescale on the Crafter Upgrade?

Rogue_5: We have several new things that we would like to implement for Crafters as part of Chapter 5. The timing will depend on the release of Chapter 4 which is now on our Test Center.

atima_Morningglory: Question about Medics: Right now the Medics are geared more as Combat Medics of Pre-NGE... will expertise add more of the Doctor skills such as making Stems and better buff abilities?

Tunso: Actually medics have a wide range of new support abilities available to them. Long ranged single target healing, a large single target heals and six new buff types. However, there are no plans to return player craftable healing items right now unfortunately.

Ampupoti: Hi when will chapter 4 be released?

Rogue_5: We don't have a definitive date for the release of Chapter 4. We just released the Chapter on our Test Center and want to evaluate the feedback that we are getting on it to see what kind of changes need to be made. I encourage everyone to login to Test Center and try out the new features. We want to get as much feedback on the Chapter as possible.

IFSF|ISREA: Will holopets be only retrievable right after Chapter 4 or just after the first login with a new account.

Chrysalide: Currently, you will only receive a holopet data cube and emitter if you log in with a character at least 10 days old after Chapter 4 and before Chapter 5. However, after Chapter 4, we are planning to add additional methods to acquire holo-pets.

Vextron: so whats the cammando kill meter?

Chrysalide: The Commando Kill Meter is a device that tallies up your number of kills over a short while. As you kill meter goes up, certain special abilties become more powerful, but if you stop fighting, your kill meter will start to go down!

Anon7749: my question here. Will there be a fix to address the issue spies have of not beingable to use any of there cloak skills if they have a dead NPC or any other player targeted? and if so boefore or after live launch?

Addy: I fixed this a few hours ago - should be on TC soon!

Ten-96: Are there any plans to add new weapons into SWG with the end of combat expertise here?

Chrysalide: With the Commando expertise, we have re-enabled some heavy weapons that were previously unavailable.

Anon9742: was any thought ever given to the idea of the Officer skill Paint Target stoping spies from going into stealth? also, will PT and things like fire DOTS still at least allow us to see where spies and jedi are if they're stealthed, even though we can't target them? (the way it is in live curently)

Addy: Thought was given to all particle effects giving away cloaked targets - the mechanism to enter stealth was changed along with the forumlas to detect as part of this we feel that particle effects should not give away a cloaked target however the effects of whatever ability is generaating the particle will remain - such as dots etc

Anon7749: Can we load more than one holopet in the generator at one time? And will it play more than one at a time?

Chrysalide: You cannot load more than one holo-pet in an emitter, it can only play one at a time. However, I did make a change just earlier today that will allow holo-pet emitters to be tradeable, so you can have more than one in your house, and you can put them in your PA Halls and such.

Retiarius: Will Spies have an expertise ability to break snares and run faster similar to what Smugglers and Jedi (with the Force Run ability) have now?

Addy: A cloaked speed boost called Burst of Shadows will allow this - you must be in stealth to activate but you move twice as fast and it will overcome all snares

Kiarna: Hiya, There's a discussion on reducing particle effects on the forum, but is there any chance of having an option to turn them off all together. Alot of players cant keep up in large battles due to all the graphic lag.

Vapor: We have seen the concern on the forums with the particle effects in regards to client performance. There has been a feedback thread asking which particles cause the biggest issues. We are working to address this issue. We will not be adding an option to turn off all particles.

Bakrest: What kind of expertise skills do you plan to implement into the medic line?

Tunso: When planning the medic expertise I took into consideration a lot of the feedback the medic community had given during the course of our implementing the various class expertise. Medics have the opportunity to gain a LOT of new abilities. About 1/2 their trees are new abilities actually =-)
Broadly medics gain about six new buffs, two new heals, new ways to remove harmful effects from themselves and allies as well as remove beneficial effects from enemies. They gain a couple of weapon specialization lines with some new combat attacks. And a bunch of debuffs. Lots of new stuff.

Cosmo: with this new system will chef ever be needed again like once was?

Helios: The goal is to give all crafters a market for their goods. That includes chefs.

Lahon: Is the ewok being considered as a pet for the beast mastery since it was included in the holo-pets?

Chrysalide: The Ewok will probably not be considered as a Beast Master pet, since holo-pet is really a generic term. The holographic Ewok is actually more of a holo-friend. =)

bardack: This may be not the first time somebody ask but is the new AT-RT deed tradeable?

Rogue_5: Yes, based on popular demand, the AT-RT is tradeable.

Naref: Question about spys: What is the total about of Camo able to be gathered through the Expertise system?

Addy: 30 + 75 = 105 total 2 places to improve camo

anaic: Are you pulling our leg with the " The Red Herring Squadron" in concept discussion or is it something you're seriously considering (and yes, that is a serious question)?

Helios: All of the concepts are being seriously considered, including that one.

anaic: Will there be any new Legacy quests added in Chapter 4?

Neif: Right now we're focusing on the expertise system, and getting all combat professions on the same playing field. In this case, the legacy quests have to sacrificed to make sure we get the combat fully balanced and tuned.

Ampupoti: Hi ive noticed some targeting bugs on TC where medic is concerned, such as mus targetng for heals and buffs. will these be fixed before live release?

Tunso: We're aware of the targetting issues currently on test (healing your enemy in a duel etc). Those should be corrected before the system goes live.

Steelie: When will the current disabled Commando weapons be reenabled? Such as the Devastator Acid Launcher, etc.

Chrysalide: The disabled heavy weapons are being re-enabled with Chapter 4.

Naref: Question as to the spy expertise: the spaces that are labled #/#. The second number is this how many times you can buy the skill and what is the multiplyer behind this for the Rapid COncelment for example?

Addy: The first number is how many points you spent - the second number is the max you can spend. Rapid Concealment has a maximum of 4 points - each point reduces the cooldown of smoke bomb and without a trace by 30 seconds. This should be indicated in the expertise interface when you select the expertise.

Zaldar: the medic support heal bacta bomb tends to heal the enimy if targeted ...is this going to be fixed soon?

Tunso: This issue is being fixed so you won't wind up healing the person you're fighting during duels.

Celt: are the medics area heal bombs intended to not heal the medic or is it a bug?

Tunso: Medics will be able to heal themselves with Bacta Bomb and Bacta Grenade. We're aware of the issues with targetting and these will be resolved before these go live.

Cemoa: With the upcoming Trader expertise, will any furniture/decoration schematics be enabled for crafters? For example, some of the Small Potted Plant Style 5 or whatever that we all see in NPC buildings?

Chrysalide: We are planning to add new schematics for Traders with the upcoming improvements, but we are not really prepared to go into any details about Chapter 5 at this time.

Gann: Are there any plans to take out particle effects completley and replace them with animations in the near future?

Rogue_5: We definitely wouldn't get rid of the particle effects completely as they provide an important feedback mechanism when performing actions during gameplay. That being said, we are aware of the particle effect concerns and are discussing ways to address them.

Bakrest: Does the hate reducer for medics reduce hate dramatically or just enough to not get the medic killed after 2 heals?

Tunso: I'd say cutting your hate in half is pretty dramatic. If you *do* happen to pull agro though, even with these mods, you also have access to abilities like Evasion which will allow you to drop all NPC hate. And don't forget about stasis, which can keep you very well protected and give your friends a chance to get whatever is angry at you off you.

HyperDice: I was Missinformed and I can't bring up the link, But I thought Crafting Expertise was slated for Capter 4. Forgive me for if its a silly question, but if not 4, when was crafting Expertise slated to be worked on.

jneri: HyperDice you will be happy to hear that Crafting expertise will be coming to you in Chapter 5. Stay tuned for more info soon and check the forums for additional info...

bardack: Tell us something about the upcoming Wookie Life Day, rewards, events, ideas?

Neif: As always, Wookiee Life Day will be celebrated in the SWG Universe -- expect Pex to offer up festivities around the servers! We are also working now on creating new objects and decorations, but still need to decide just what everyone receives.

Naref: as to the expertise charts what is the amount of points requiered to move from tier to tier?

Chrysalide: You must spend four points in a tier of the expertise tree in order to be able to spend points in the next tier down.

Telex: Why is SOE being so hard-headed and stubborn when it comes to Beast Mastery? I was excited to see it come back in discussion, but some of your developers seem to be dead against it already. I don't get it.

jneri: No one is hard headed or against "Beast Mastery" but we do have some hurdles in making it happen for you guys and with that it takes some serious considerations on just how we are going to get it done. Its not simple but we appreciate the enthusiasm with you guys on the concept.

Jediontherise: What are we looking at beyond Chapter 5?

Chrysalide: Chapter 6! =)
