- The main reason people are being banned for multi-slicing is because of the huge impact that is has on PvP (this goes the same for slicing sabers). It's no fun to play when somoene can blow you right out of your composite boots.
- It's very easy for a CSR to tell if you've sliced your saber or any weapon/armor for that matter.
Added note: We don't (usually) actively look for players that have sliced a light saber, but if another player reports you then we have to act on that.
Another added note: We don't enjoy banning people (well... maybe occasionally), but will do it when needed. It usually comes down to how your exploiting effects the game as a whole and the other people in it. If you're duping millions of credits then you're going to get banned. If you're slicing your light saber to make you a lean, mean, PvP machine, then you're going to get banned. If you're using an exploit to make you dance 10% faster, then you're prolly not going to get banned for that.
So, if you use a sliced saber in PvP it's an exploit but if you use a sliced saber in PvE it's ok? ....
Read the title of the topic, pretty self explanitory..

If the topic title was all that was posted, of course there would be no lack of clarity. But this line here introduces a loophole that more than just I hit upon:
If you're slicing your light saber to make you a lean, mean, PvP machine, then you're going to get banned.
That is a different statement than this:
If you're slicing your light saber, then you're going to get banned.
I know it's all the rage to jump on word parsers around here, but damn it, if they didn't make such stupid general statements and just put forth the latter statement, there'd be no ambiguity. I couldn't care less about owning in PvP at this point, and would never use an exploit to do so, but if I can use a sliced saber to cut down on the grind, I'm definitely interested. Anyone who holds their grind up as a badge of honor has some kind of masochism complex.

You get the point.

i totally agree about not slicing, and understand that this is a NO-NO, but the statement about being blown out of your composite boots, lmao, is he telling this to fs guys, he's joking right? look someone has played a fs char here, but not someone who's saying things like this.
is there any chance of them not trying to talk in examples that are double sided, and just the facts, it would be really nice if we could just know the rules straight up. this process of thinning the fs pack is rediculous.
from what i read here, they are telling folks that its ok to exploit only if..........this slicing of sabers should be a an exploit or not. this well only cause grief and misunderstanding.
does what i'm saying here make any sense to anyone? this does not apply to fs slot holders only by the way, the confusion coming from such a statement is game wide. for me its frustrating trying to play the game correctly and then seeing them saying this is, and i dont mean frustrating from the stand point that im angry, but from the point of clearity. i could go the angry route, and say they favor players bassed on personal ideals, but i'm hoping to make a change here, in the intrest of fairness, and good gaming.
Relax...It's just an update for the patch to fix the nerf that nerfed the fix for the update of the patch that broke the fix that was fixed on the previous nerf they called an update....

You can kill AFK Jedi via creatures attacking, or a combination of disease and poison. The popular opinion is that Jedi AFK Macroing is rather ridiculous. I understand the ONE argument- said Jedi cannot find pearls or crystals in months of playing. The Devs really need to address that, but that does not mean any of us should AFK Macro force powers for a handful of XP...
On the topic of sabers: I heard someone MULTI-sliced a lightsaber for a dmg in the 3k+. That is 100% bannable in my mind too. I think those who made a single slice to a crystal saber, whose stats are still far less then a pearl are not going to be banned, but will possibly lose the exploited saber and a slap on the hand by a CSR. I admit I made a sliced crystal saber for curiousity, it's since been destroyed. One important thing to note is the concept of slicing at each gen, then upgrading DOES NOT mean squat for future generation sabers. The base stats, pre-slice, are what matter. It's the same concept as using a broken lightsaber for the next generation. So given all I have heard, it was a few 'jerks' who did the multi-slice exploit on weaponry (not just lightsabers) that made some ridiculous .5 sec 500-1500 dmg weaponry who have been banned from the game. And good riddance.
Now, I have made a new 4 pearl PvP saber, and I think that's enough to deal with most BH who come after me...
so... i can take my cheasey all crystal POS saber, slice it 1 time at every level, so that it is almost compareable to an ok pearl saber, and use it to kill pikets to my hearts content. but i am not allowed to use That sliced saber to kill a bounty hunter that comes after me.
i can make an all pearl saber, slice it as many times as i want, kill grauls all day long, and im ok.
if i make an all pearl saber, slice it 1 time (at gen5), as the Slicing system was intended to be used, and then use it on a bounty hunter, this is the no no?
just looking for some clarification, i could realy use a decent speed slice on the garbage gen5 saber im grinding with righ now, but i dont want to risk it till im clear on this... seems like he saying that slicing to make crap = decent is ok, but slicing to make excellent = uber is not ok
