This FAQ addresses questions directly related to the PA Hall structure. For basic information about guilds please read The Basic Manual
Q: How do I get a PA Hall?
A: PA Halls are crafted by Master Architects. Ask your friendly neighborhood Architect to find out the cost of a PA Hall deed in your area.
Q: How much does it cost to maintain the PA Hall?
A: 100 credits per hour, 2400 credits per day in addition to any city taxes you will need to pay if your Hall is placed inside a city.
Q: How many lots does a PA Hall require?
A: 7 lots for all models. Non-Tatooine models used to cost 9 lots but this was changed about the same time JTL came out. If you still have a PA Hall costing you 9 lots, have the character that placed the structure deposit maintenance and the lots will drop to 7.
Q: Which PA Hall type should I get?
A: There are three differences between the halls. First, the amount of lots they take (mentioned above). Second, the visual appeal of the Halls (which you will have to judge for yourself) and third, what planet they can be placed on.
Generic halls can be placed anywhere. Planetary style halls can be placed on their home planet and sister planets. Tatooine Halls will work on Lok and Dantooine. Naboo Halls will work on Rori and Dantooine. Corellian Halls can also be placed on Talus.
Q: Can I have a PA Hall without making a guild?
A: Yes, so long as you don't use the guild management terminal to create a guild you won't have one.
Q: What can a PA Hall do that is different from other structures?
A:
- You can use it to create a guild
- The guild management terminal is necessary for performing guild functions like adding and removing members
- Anyone on the PA Hall admin list can withdraw credits from the PA Hall maintenance pool, so this can act like a treasury
Q: What happens to the guild if.... I want to move my PA Hall? The Hall is destroyed due to lack of maintenance? The owner of the PA Hall gets deleted and the Hall gets deleted with them?
A: Once a guild has been created it does not need a PA Hall to continue existing ever again! Without a PA Hall guildchat will function as normal. Your guild abbreviation will continue to float above your head. The main thing you will lack without a PA Hall is the ability to invite new members and carry out other functions on the guild management terminal.
Q: How does my guild get another PA Hall?
A: Any guild member who currently wears your tag can place a PA Hall for your guild. The Guild Management terminal will automatically align itself with the owner of the Hall when it is placed. You may need to redeed it once or twice if this does not immediately happen. A PA can have as many PA Halls as it wants to support and maintain. No limits!
Q: Does the PA Leader have to own the PA Hall?
A: Nope! The very first PA Leader is always the person who placed the PA Hall. However, after the guild is created the PA Leader can give the structure to anyone else, including someone who is not even in the guild. To do this, the leader and the person who will own the Hall must stand near the structure management terminal. The leader can target the future hall owner and type /transferstructure. If the new owner has enough free lots the structure will be theirs!
Q: What if the leader or PA Hall owner locks me out of the PA Hall?
A: Anyone in the guild can place a Hall that will work for your guild. So, it is not possible to hijack a guild by restricting access to the PA Hall. Just place your own.
