  • Q: I am looking for the basics?
A: Skip to the second message on this thread

  • Q: I am looking for the basics on ship components?
A: Take a look at this Friday Feature

  • A2: For reward loot check here

  • Q: I need help on my mission?!?!?
A: Try checking the pilots listed here or your galaxy forums. Check also to see who posted a "please add me" last in the thread. They might not have been added to the list yet. A Corvette mission walkthru by Nikilo and more information on Corvette Master Mission Spawns

  • Q: I want my Black Sun Helmet.
A: The "Black Sun Ace" Helmet is a very very rare space loot item that can drop from any T4 Black Sun or higher. Many pilots have racked up over 100 million prestige on Black Suns and have yet to loot one. Its that rare.

  • Q: What About Factions in space?
A: For more information on recent faction changes check out this thread. Ground and space factions are linked as follows:

    • Ground Civilian can ONLY be Privateer pilot

    • Ground Imperial can be Imperial or any Privateer pilot

    • Ground Rebel can be Rebel or any Privateer pilot

  • Q: How do I get faction points in space?
A: You are able to gain faction points by going overt at one of your factionally aligned stations in space. You can go covert by death or by landing. There are 2 types of factional stations. The first allows you to go overt usually named "Imperial I, II" or "Rebel I, II" you can find them in the system maps (use N in space). The second ones are for transport to Deep Space and Kessel. You can gain faction points in space while being "on-leave" for ground status.

    • Privateer: You are able to gain faction by declaring at a Rebel or Imperial Stations. And can gain faction points anywhere except Deep Space. Why not Deep Space?

      1. As an overt Imperial or Rebel you do not have any Imp/Reb Prestige to gain entry to deep space using the Factional deep space stations
      2. The Last Nav Station in Dathomir will NOT talk to you as a Rebel or Imperial overt
      3. You can access Kessel by using the factional "deep space" space stations in Dantooine space for Rebel or Endor space for Imperial.
      4. You can only use the factional "deep space - kessel jump" stations when space overt.

  • Q: How do I land at and gain access to a theme parks?
A: Its all being talked about in this thread.

  • Q: The Pilots Academy!
A: Some of our regular posters have been kind enough to write lots for us on piloting skills. If you would like to have your own added please post a link on this thread.

    1. Learning To Fly! -=* A step-by-step guide for novices *=-

    6. Ship Mass Management

    7. Reverse Engineering

    8. PvP 101, required reading for the first timer

  • Q: What About droids and droid commands?
A: You need both a droid interface and a flight-computer/astromech in addition the acual commands or programmed chips. A detailed list of each command and more information can be found in the Comprehensive Droid Routine Breakdown

    1. Droid interface can be looted or crafted by a shipwright

    2. Flight-computers/astromech are crafted by Droid Engineers only. Astromechs are for X-wings, Y-wings, and Z-95 only and count to the droid limit!! Flight computers are for all other ships and do NOT count as a droid in datapad. They are certified in the xxxX tree of pilot and separate from the DI certification. REBEL NOTE: You most likely end up running both flight-computers and astomechs, but the Astromech can have other functionality other then being a flight droids, ask you favorite DE for more info. Astromechs, as they count against the droid limit, are tradeable and nameable. Flight computers are NOT able to be traded/named.

    3. Each faction has a set of commands they can program or load for free. ANY pilot of ANY level can use ANY program from ANY faction as long as they can squeeze it in the Lvl FC/Astro they are certified for. The programs for the other 2 factions (or ones you can not program yet) can be used by having them programmed into blanks with commands then trade or buy them.

  • Q: Where can I find the UI command list?
A: In the JTL UI commands thread.

  • Q: What does 'POB' mean?
A: Dev speak, short for "portalized object". POB basically means "something you can walk around in". The Yacht, YT-1300, Decimator and Nova Courier are all POB ships. The Krayt, Agressor and Y-wing (in addion to the POB ships) are all multi-player.

  • Q: Current issues and focus threads?
A: Current Pilot Issues thread and focus threads:

    2. POB Ships

    3. Post Master Content

    4. PvP damage

  • Pilot Profession basics:
This profession is unique in a number of ways. It takes no skillpoints, so everyone can dabble. Other players can't train you only your current NPC trainer can advance you and most every skill box will cost you at least 1 mission in addition to XP (if needed). You can only be one Faction at a time. You cannot be both a Neutral Pilot and a Rebel Pilot (for example).

  • Where to start
There are 3 choices for Pilot factions and each faction has 3 different Squadrons you can join:
    1. Rebel: Recruiter Location: J'pai Brek (-5072, -2343) Tyrena, Corellia
----- Akron's Havok Squad: Captain Kreezo, Tyrena, Corellia (-5177, -2281)
----- Vortex Squadron: V3-FX {droid} (right across the bridge) Moenia, Naboo
----- Crimson Phoenix Squadron: Commander Da'la Socuna (back room of the cantina) Mos Espa Tatooine

    2. Imperial: Recruiter Location: Commander Landau (-5516,4403) Theed, Naboo
----- Inquisition: Lt. Barn Sinkko, Kadaara, Naboo (5204, 6728)
----- Storm Squadron: Lt. Akal Colzet, Bestine, Tatooine (1110, -3514)
----- Black Epsilon: Hakasha Sireen, Imp Outpost, Talus (-2183, 2259)

    3. Freelancer: Recruiter Location: Gil Burtin (-1174, -3647) Bestine, Tatooine
----- Smuggler Alliance: Dravis, Mos Eisley, Tatooine, Back room of cantina (3429,-4788)REBEL aligned
----- RSF Squadron: Captain Dinge, Theed Naboo (-5497,4575)
      IMPERIAL aligned
----- Corsec Squadron: Sergeant Rhea, Coronet Corellia (-275,4730) Neutral

  • What you will need:
You will be given a "starter ship" when you sign up with any faction. Some factions are more frugal then others, so you might have to push the issue with your trainer a little. This ship is hyperspace capable but you might want/need to upgrade some of the components fairly quickly. You can do this by using parts you loot, buy from the bazaar or from visiting your local SW. NOTE: You will be given loot items from time to time by your trainer. These include very nice parts and clothing, no notification is given!

  • Parts and certifications:
Each level of components are certified to a certain level of piloting skills. As you advance you will be able to outfit with better ships and equipment. There is a "certification level" on each ship part and the certification for this comes in the xXxx tree of pilot.

  • Missions, XP, and Training and you:
    • Tier 1: XP and missions

    • Tier 2: XP and missions

    • Tier 3: Missions Only

    • Tier 4: XP and missions

    • Master Box: Missions(2) ONLY. Once you train to 4444 XP does not matter for you.

    • Post Master: You now receive prestige points, they are used to gain access to deep space. There are separate prestige for each faction

  • How to change pilot factions:
    1. Unload and redeed all your ships first.

    2. Go see the Recruiter for your pilots faction

    3. "Resign" from your current pilots faction.

    4. Then go to see a faction recruiter (if needed) to quit your ground-based faction.
[You must be a combatant and not "on leave" to resign from a ground faction]

    5. You will get the standard "previous master bonus" of [XP * (1+the number of previous FACTIONAL masters)] if you previously had mastered a pilot squad in any of the factions. You get 1+ for doing a single squad in any different faction. For a total of 3x+1 bonus (Rebel, Imperial, Privateer). You do not get a bonus for each squad but rather for completing any of the 3 squads in 1 faction. If you complete multiple squads in one faction you do not get an extra bonus.
If you are switching factions you will need to work off any negative faction you have in your newly chosen side before you can start on pilot.

    6. You will need to start over with your new pilot profession from scratch. All XP and prestige will be set to zero when you "resign" your pilots skills.

  • Corvette Master Mission:
    Corvette Spawn Information:

    • Each Corvette spawns on about a 2 hour timer.

    • They tend to spawn on alternating hours.

    • I have seen both in Kessel at the same time.

    • Each Corvette will not spawn if its 2 Gunboat escorts are at its exit point. (I have seen the fighter escort there too)

    • -- The escorting gunboats will be chasing each other in a tight circle around a single point in space. (hard to miss)

    • -- The escorting gunboats can be very difficult to kill for newer pilots.

    • -- You only need to disable the gunboats (taking out engines) and wait. They will self destruct after a minute or 2 when disabled.

    • ----- The Rebel Corvette (Corellian Corvette) exits at -7260 4873 6341(on Scylla)

    • ----- The Imperial Corvette (Star Ravager) exits at -6231 -259 -6059 (on Scylla)

    Corvette Master Mission Completion Information:

To Complete the mission you must do the following:

    1. You must have the Corvette Master Mission in datapad (it can be deleted after taking another mission)

    2. You must be in Kessel and within range when the corvette is destroyed.

    3. You must have done damage to a susbsytem on the corvette on this trip to Kessel.

    4. You will NOT have to go to trainer and retake mission if you die durring your vette run. Repair and get right back in the fight.

    To damage to a subsystem:

    1. Target the corvette.

    2. Select a subsystem using '[' and ']'.

    3. Hit that specific area with guns or land a missle. This can be tougher then you think for those on your first trip. Watch for the xxx% of the system to go down when you hit it.

    First of all, great thread!

Can you return the new droid programm guide to the old link? The one from the droid engineer forum is essentially the same info that you get from the skillboxes in swg. The values of the commands would be far more interesting.

I put together a Reverse Engineering guide today. It can be found here.

Certain bits of it are more important for shipwrights, but I think a significant portion of it will be applicable to pilots looking for more information on the REing process.
