All Jedi are supposed to have an innate ability to avoid scans. When a NPC tries to scan a Jedi there's supposed to be a chance that an automatic event will trigger that has the Jedi using a "mind trick" on the NPC, allowing them to bypass the scan.

 

This worked before publish 9, but was broken after that. The devs stated that this ability was supposed to be fixed in the last publish (13.1), allowing Jedi the chance of bypassing scans once again.

 

 

Just wondering, has anybody had this event happen for them yet?

never worked for me as a padawan...cant say much as a dark knight since my being overt overrides the imperial scans anyway :-/

my thinking is it should be a powers x4xx ability and it should apply to all NPC and work like animal calm.

Everything the Devs say is true... from a certain point of view.

I'm a rebel padawan and after this patch i went on leave... since then i've been grinding in several places, including endor... i've stud right in the middle of several st squads and they don't even try to scan me, so i can't say i've advoid it

I was scanned in Tyrena, by a Corsec. Had to run like h3ll. Nothing happened though as I managed to kill the NPC with what I have left of my TK skills.

I have been scanned. The mind trick didnt even initiate so that I would even have a chance to avoid it.

Since the patch when the mind trick was promised, I have been scanned a couple of times by probots, no mind trick. One time contraband was discovered by the probot, but I was gone on my AV-21 before the shuttle landed - didn't want to stick around to see what happens next. The other time no contraband was found.

been scanned 3 times recently

 

1st time i did the mind trick (first time its ever happend for me)

2nd time i avoided the scan (nothing found)

3rd time i was fined.

 

the mind trick worked aprox 2 weeks ago. no-one else i have spoken to has had it work, and all 3 times i was scanned was proximity of Bestine

I wandered around for ages yesterday trying to get Rebs to scan me but did a single one as much as even look at me? Nope.  Actually come to think of it, Ive not had any reb npc's attack me on the spot and I am an Imp Combatant......
