I looked for this info in the FAQ without seeing it. Did a little research and finally found it. Thought I'd share.

I'm going to post this addtional info in a couple places because it took me a bit of research to find out... should be tucked away in the Artisan FAQs somewhere. Granted Food isn't a huge part of Artisan, especially if you're just grinding through it, but I like cooking stuff up!
---

For Artisans interested in making Light Food Additives for crafting Artisan foods, the Bio-Eng component isn't clearly specified but with a little research, I dicovered Multisaccharide Dimate, got some and it at least fit in the 'optional' slot... the stuff I got was low qual and didn't make much difference.

However further research indicated that there are 4 different kinds of light food bio components... This may be obvious knowledge to some folks, but I had to look awefully hard to find this info., so thought I'd share.

Here are all 4 and their effect.

Flavor - how long the food's effect lasts
Multisaccharide Dimate

Filling - how much stomach space the food takes up (on this I'm guessing the better you get in this category, the LESS filling it is. Can anyone confirm this?)
Carboreductive Catalyst

Nutrition - how large the food's effect is
Micronutrient Supplement

Quantity - how many doses in the final stack of food
Hyper Yeast Additive

Common knowledge to Chefs I'm sure, but the slot size can except the stated size or smaller. So only Light additives will fit in a light slot, but later if you're making something with a slot for a medium food additive, you can put a light or a medium additive into the slot.

Light additives:

Mutilsaccharide Dimate: increases flavor (duration) by 10-30%
Hyper Yeast Addtive: increases quantity (# of uses) by 100-200%
Micronutrient supplement: increases nutrition (buff) 30-60%
Carboreductive Catalyst: reduces filling by 5-15% (so yes, the higher % the lower the filling becomes, which equals you can eat/drink more)

Taken from Revamp foodchart.

There's also listed what kind of resources the additives need. The lower percent (i.e. 10 on Mutilsaccharide Dimate) is what you would get on a additive experimented to 0%. The higher value (30 on this case) is what you would get if you experimented to 100%.

Hope that clears it

The percentages do help, thanks! The required ingredients seem to make the decision for the most part as Milk and Meat, the main ingredients in 2 of them, are a pain to get in large HQ quantities... I need too much leather and bone for other stuff to bother with much meat harvesting... what little I do harvest I cook up!
And besides, 5-15% isn't much of a reduction on the filling either, so it does seem like Hyper Yeast or MicroNutrient Supplements are the more attractive options.

Glad I could help

And as you say, the filling reduction isn't used much, I have yet to see a scenario in game where a filling reduction would be better than a nutrition boost.

I am tempted to use it on some of the beverages if I'm going to be trying to wedge any of them into my stomache along with those 2 shots of V. Brandy. ;D

Great work!

May I add this to the Useful Artisan Postings Sticky?

That or if the info could be incorporated into the Artisan FAQ I think it would help relative newbs like myself.
