This post is here to replace the sub-posts that, while informative, clutter up the top of the forum. When something notable happens I'll make a single-thread floaty for a few days, then move it here. These notes have either been cleared by a Dev or were posted by a Dev in this forum.
Notes
7/27- Two new armors for wookiees are now in the game: the Hunting Armor and the Black Mountain Armor. Both are quite complicated to make but offer a new level of protection for our wookiee customers.
7/15- In response to an inquiry regarding an armorsmith bandolier along the lines of the aprons/toolbelt schematics for the other crafting professions, TH said that he would put it 'on the new item development list.' I also stressed the point that it should preferably be a bandolier so that Wookies could wear it.
In other news, The Complete Guide to Armor and Armorcrafting can now be downloaded in simple html format for any of you looking for a printable version. Head over to www.mmorpgamers.org and look in the downloads section. You're welcome to read my periodic rants while you there, but it's hardly necessary.
6/12- Some minor notes: There is now a delay that occurs when equipping/unequipping armor. This will reportedly go live, although the degree of the delay is still being decided. Also, while Jedi are Awesome (with a capital "A," this is how they should have been done in the first place), they will not be able to use force powers while wearing armor or holding any weapon other than their lightsaber.
4/23- Mandalorian armor will be in game after the next publish. It will not be a craftable item in the typical sense of the word, however. Also, various pieces will be able to be made by masters of the different crafting professions, including armorsmith. In order to obtain Mandalorian armor you will need to successfully navigate the Deathwatch Bunker, a new dungeon that will be available after Publish 8.
4/22- The vulnerability shift bug has been fixed on TestCenter. When Publish 8 goes Live, PSG's will be vulnerable to kinetic, acid and blast and their vulnerabilities will not shift.
4/19- The armor hole appears to be fixed on TestCenter. With luck, this fix will go Live and we'll see one of the biggest armor bugs disappear for good.
4/6- Tantel is supposed to be vulnerable to acid, electricity, stun and blast.
3/18- The new crafting system went live for one day and then was removed via hotfix. As a reuslt, crafting is largely unchanged, although the critical failure rate has been reduced.
3/10- The no backpacks on vendor change has been reversed. It will not be going to live as part of Publish 7. The developers are going to look into other ways to eliminate some of the problems of packs on vendors.
3/9- There are several new changes on TC right now that are slated to go live sometime soon. The first is a change to how expermentation works. Under the new system, rather than getting a flat amount of 7% per point spent you will receive a percentage based on your resource quality. That percentage ranges from 0-7%. Also, amazing successes can now push you above the current resource caps.
The second change has to do with the ability to place backpacks containing items on vendors and the bazaar. After the patch players will no longer have the ability to place any containers that contain an item on the bazaar. If you have an opinion on this subject I encourage you to speak up in the relevant testing thread.
The "Health encumbrance not showing up in segments and layers" bug has been fixed on Test as part of Publish 7.
2/13- It appears the bug that caused female avatars who wore ubese helms in combat to crash to desktop has been fixed. If you have any experiences to the contrary, please report them.
1/7- On RIS helmets
The helmets don't fit the alien noggins cleanly. The artists set up the restrictions based on what character models the wearables support. There are plans down the road to make art changes so that the helmets will fit these other species. Currently, there is no art support for the races mentioned below to wear the RIS helmet:
Mon cal Bothan Rodian Trando Wookie)
12/22- HAM issues and armor colorization
1. The Health HAM non-display issue on segments and layers has been fixed and will be pushed to live in the next publish. Yes, this is publish, not hotfix.
2. Composite armor colors have been restored when crafting new armor. Armor that lost its color will have its color restored via hotfix after the New Year.
