    We are looking for passionate programmers who can dedicate some of their free time to volunteer for this project.

    Required Skills

    - Intermediate knowledge of C++ and/or Java
    - Minimum experience with the Unix/Linux environment
    - Familiar with scripting languages such as LUA

    Recommended Skills

    - Object oriented programming and design patterns
    - Understanding of transactional systems and client/server architecture
    - Concurrent programming (threads, mutexes)
    - Experience with SQL
    - Reverse engineering skills
    - Game modding experience

    How can I contribute?

    Contributing is easy if you have set up the environment and git you just commit reviews to http://gerrit.swgemu.com as simple patches. After we approve some of your patches and we see that you're comfortable with the framework you get git access so you can commit directly.
    If you have questions about the implementations you can directly ask TheAnswer on IRC through personal messages or in the #opendev channel.

    • Started work on a ConversationEditor user interface which will be used to generate server-side scripts for NPC conversations.
    • Fixed various user interface bugs in the ConversationEditor and improved cross-browser consistency.
    • Added the ability to choose from any SWG client localization string when building conversations with the ConversationEditor.
    • Added the ability for an object to change direction to face another object.
    • Re-enabled city regions to be registered with the Planetary Map.

    • Fixed surveying/sampling animations at inappropriate times, such as playing when you didn't have enough mind/action and getting the tired message.
    • Fixed various conversion issues with resources.
    • Server management: editing objects and scripts while the server is running, dashboard for server health, and anything else developers want to code in.

    • Now that we are changing to a transactional system, we have to make our current features both on engine and core3 transaction ready. This means that our tasks need to be restarted at any time.
    • Most of the engine work is ready. We are now testing core3 features on the STM server to see what features need to be altered.
