07-05-2010, 10:03 AM
The entire SWGEmu Team is working on the "Object Restructure" as well as reorganizing the staff job functions. This is in an effort to get to V1.00 efficiently and to better serve the Community now and in the future. Right now we want to show everybody what the new Quality Assurance department looks like and the open positions we are asking applications for at this time. We are looking to bring on 3-5 people by the end of July and probably more in August that will all help with internal testing of the OR and other misc. research activities.

Please read through all of the information in all of the posts below so you can be informed before submitting an application. The last post lists the open positions and procedure to follow to submit a proper application.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Quality Assurance Department: SWGEmu is an open source project with over 100 volunteers to develop and support software to emulate Star Wars Galaxies Pre-Combat Upgrade for a community of over 50,000 active members. Within the organization are the Test Center Project (TC), Development Project (Dev) and SunCrusher Project (SC). The Dev departments Core3, Quality Assurance and Website. The Dev Quality Assurance department (QA) is part of the SWGEmu Team that directly supports the coders with testing and research. The purpose of QA is to provide validation of bug reports from the Community and Staff, perform their own tests on new code and validates whether it performs within expectations, and provides approval for the next step in development life cycle. The QA department is divided into four groups; Crafting, Combat, Medic-Scout-Entertainer (Medoutainer) and World.

Don't be shy, we are still taking apps for 1-2 weeks.

Please make sure you read post #6 (http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showpost.php?p=658343&postcount=6) carefully and completely :)

We have more quality applicants than we can bring onto Staff at one time without overloading, so the request for QA apps is closed now.

I am sure as the OR testing picks up (before it hits Nova later this year) we will require more QA people. So this is just a "turned off for now" condition :)
