Decreased starport wait time to 60 seconds

http://bafordham.com/swg/playercity.html

last updated 4.28.2005

This was created before the "Combat Upgrade"

Shuttle wait times are only 1 minute, so you should be able to leave quickly (they used to be 5 minutes). Shuttle costs from a player city may be higher than non-player city shuttles, because the mayor can set an access fee on the shuttle which will go towards the city treasury.

(Player post in the official 12.1 pub notes thread, there are some other references in the thread to this, but this is the clearest one to shuttles being 60sec)

http://web.archive.org/web/20050304043643/http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=swgpatchnotes&message.id=550&view=by_date_ascending&page=4

I wanted to come in here and whine about the crafting problems and rubberbanding, but i see some peeps have beat me to it.

So what else is there:

  • 60 Seconds waiting time for shuttles is unrealistic, bump it back to 3-5 mins.

http://web.archive.org/web/20050309044506/http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=economy&message.id=2489

Second post:

"Simple fix for ALL the Role players who don't like the 1 min delay now on shuttle thats 99% of the rest of DO like. Sit there for 15 mins if you want and RP but don't make everyone else who LIKES the 1 min delay have to wait."

And later on:

"I understand that powergames love the 1min delay between shuttles"

http://web.archive.org/web/20050312181255/http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=economy&message.id=1845

Another ref to 60 sec shuttles.

I was talking to Onyx about this and Onyx is pretty sure that the posts I found are referring to shuttles from starports.

Patch notes for publish 12 refers to starport waiting times and not shuttleports. We need to find more evidence of it being the shuttleports instead. I could not read the web.archive.org pages.

I agree that this info is not 100%. If we need to have 1 min spaceports and 5 min shuttles then we'll need to create a new task, correct?

03 Mar

Loshult says:

That is correct. Another solution is to add a parameter to the create function of this task and let it have the type and differentiate the timings with that.

We have started to use Gerrit for reviews instead of Fishey. Please follow the instructions on the following page: https://www.assembla.com/spaces/swgemu/wiki/Git_Gerrit_and_Jenkins and push your patch to Gerrit instead.
