possible solution for the "index out of range" problem

hi all,

when you look into your resources page, you possible will notice, that not all of the resources have a down-arrow when you click on the cell (column a).
when this happens, just press "Sort resources" until all resources are having the arrow and than the index-failure is history.

hope that works for all of you :)

Regards

ps: forgive me my bad english

Can anyone give any advice for adding resources to the master list? I am gettting an error when I enter certain resources that it doesn't like for example recycled resources. They don't appear in the drop down and it won't let me add it.

Thanks

Is there a specific order the new schematics have to entered in the spreadsheet for the resrouce listing to work properly. I found that after I entered some new WS schems in it I lost the ability to track my WS resrouces taht recently spawned. It was showing Artisan and Jedi fine but no new metals. Comaprisons of the non altered version showed resoruces fine (Something like 4 of them)

Any advice?

Error during Import of SWGC data

Does any one know why I get an error when down loading the latest resources from SWG craft? Says "An error occurred while reading data-file"

I have tracked it to the following line in the ImportSWGCdata subroutine:

.TextFilePlatform = 437

I am using Excel 2000 version 9.0.4402 SR-1.

Any help you can provide is appreciated.

I use it daily and have added most of my new WS schematics. It makes my crafting easy enough to continue despite the devs apparent bent on killing all crafting and making SWG a pure combat game that sells to the kiddies and could easily port to a console.

iI think the killer will be when ToOW hits. The devs have hinted there will be new resources. I don't see much of a chance of placing harvestors on the lava but if it's a rotating resource that ends up hitting SWGCraft then the tool will break when they start adding it to the download. Then without someone with good visual basic skills who has the time and inclination to fix it we will be out of luck.

Still, maybe the new resources are like the asteroids. Since they are always there and the quality is constant putting them up on the site would be pointless. Probably just one more piece of loot to be added to a limited use loot schematic.

TlarAfyon 10-22-2005 10:53 AM

This tool has SOOO much good info. But I would appreciate some advice / help.

I know MS Excel pretty well, I'm not a VB expert. I want to add the new schems to the sheet, but don't understand completely what changes would need to be made if any other than adding the info to the "Data All" tab.

If anyone is so inclined to help a not-quite-but-almost-clueless crafter change the sheet so I can add the new schems, it'd be much appreciated.

:D

RawlingsSc 10-22-2005 07:48 PM

This version of the tool is much easier to add to. You add a line to the Data All page and put in all the info. Once done with that, you press the Update Tool button on that page. It takes care of everything else for you.

New SWG Craft CSV download

Hello all,

They changed the file structure for the download and it does not match the Excel VB code to parse it into something that 1.70.02 can use. Also, there are about 22 new resources including the Asteroids. I've been looking at this code for some time now and have not figured it out yet. But then I haven't spent a lot of time on it.

Not sure I want to invest in it with this new upgrade coming. Don't know how the crafting will be working in the NGE release the 15th.

Can someone PM me a copy of the latest tool

So, I'm back into SWG and need a tool that works. I've always relied on the fooman tool, and enjoyed the slowjack mods. Now, playing SWG again without as working tool is really hard - never know how to make anything.

So, if someone could PM me the latest copy of the spreadsheet, or point me to a link that works, I will get into updating it for NGE changes.

Tharre 01-09-2006 02:43 PM

Hello Kbuegel

I've reposted the latest version that I had working before the CU and NGE and since SWGCraft changed it's download at the following location:

Good luck.

Strongbow 01-24-2006 12:25 AM

Hello gentlefolks,

So how badly has NGE treated the crafting world? From the few friends of mine still playing, it sounds like crafting is really not worth the effort, except maybe for ShipWrights and Architects...most everything else seems to be lootable and more powerful than anything that can be crafted.

Nice to see the tool is still being used out there, but have to believe adapting it to NGE has proven....problematic, at best.

Tharre 01-24-2006 07:15 AM

Help Strongbow

Hi Strongbow,

I really could use some help in recoding the tool for use with the new statistics in SWGCraft. It would be helpful if I could get some guidance as I'm still doing shipwright but it's been a pain since nge to even think about doing any harvesting.

Please clues for the extract of data and then on the wth spreadsheet with the space resources would be helpful.

Thanks
Tharre

Arketh 01-24-2006 08:01 AM

At the core, very little has changed in the actual crafting... now, the usefulness of crafting on the other hand, well, that's a differnt story entirely.

I'm afraid to even think about jumping back into SWG at this point. Still playing EQ2 and while it has its slow points, they are churning out content relatively quickly. I suspect that when/if I do return that I'll pretty much have to start over. I've got all my stuff in the bank and in my inventory so I'm sure I can twink out a new character pretty well, but it's such a different game now with the NGE that I have to wonder if I would find the same enjoyment in it that I did day one.

So what say you kbuegel, how have you adapted to the changes?

ZapatoGrande 01-26-2006 12:17 AM

I am still playing

Sloejack,
I am still playing as an Architect, I mean Structure Trader. The game has changed but it sounds like the Devs may be getting on board with making it better from the tone of some of the recent official forum posts.

We need something thats updated with NGE changes, BER rates are double now so...if anyone has a more updated version, let me know.

jecfall 02-20-2006 02:10 PM

I use this tools from a long time i will test this latest version soon. I have a "suggestion" it is possible to add to this tool a managment of subcomponent, and maybe a system to know how long a factory should run for build for exemple 1000 wall module etc...

My english is not very good but i hope you understand me.

Just an update on the latest tool. I tried using it with MS Office 2000 and got an error when downloading the datafile. After a little bit of debugging I made it work. What I changed:

Module DataImportFunctions
Sub: ImportSWGCdata()

changed line: .TextFilePlatform = xlMSDOS
old line was : .TextFilePlatform = 437

removed line: .TextFileTrailingMinusNumbers = True

Not sure if the TrailingMinusNumbers makes a difference but it worked for me.

Ok, I have been having an issue that I've only ever just figured a work-around for (have been using the tool since last summer). As a chef, there are several lines that I do experimentation on. I am comfortable with the data all page and I have updated any chef schematics that were incorrect or missing (Mando Wine, Rancor Aid, etc.).

Anyway, for most of my schematics there are 4 lines to experiment on, and all of them are in the tool. However, when I pick a schematic, it only does its search on the values in Exp1. It shows the percentages and names for the other experimental lines, but it doesn't use them in any calculations or resource compare searches.

Since Nutrition is the most important for most schematics, I just shifted that and its values to the Exp1 section and moved Filling to Exp3. I really want to have the Flavor calculated too, though. Is it possible to make the tool look at more than one line when choosing resources or will it always just look at the 1st one in the list (i.e. Exp1)?

davidben2001 04-26-2006 04:40 AM

I'm having a problem where it is only finding my JTL resources such as "High Grade Polymetric Radioactive" on the list and not my other regular resources such as steel. Is there a fix for this or is my tool completely broken?

Hi David - I have made some minor modifications to the spreadsheet and it works for me. I have not incorporated any of the space resources yet. Hope it works for you.

This can be changed in the Data All sheet (I think, am at work so I can't check for sure). I have changed it, of that I am certain, so just look around some and you should find it.

EDIT:
The four ;-separated numbers in col DG are what control the weights of the experimentation lines. 100;0;0;0 would mean 100% weight on exp1, whereas 25;25;25;25 would mean 25% weight on exp1 thru exp4.

Is there somebody still working with this?
I wonder if it would be possible to bring the sheet back to life. But my version even lacks the mustafarian ressources.

Also, I would like to see a "get ressources" button, like the one which is inside Armorsmith's little helper. There you just need to insert ressource name, press the button and tataaa, all the ressource stats are taken from the database.

Unfortunately I am not so good with Excel. But perhabs somebody of you is willing to do some spreadsheet work?

sicarusorde 12-18-2006 01:02 PM

So I spent the past while figuring out the Data All page on this thing, and tried adding the missing armorsmith craftables and editing the current ones to be correct as far as resource types go. However, I'm getting:
Run Time Error '9'
Subscript out of range
:when I try to Update Tool.

-----------------------

sngTotal = 0
For j = 1 To 9
If Val(Worksheets("Data All").Cells(i, (j * 2) + 92)) > 0 Then
ReDim Preserve swgSchematicResources(j)

swgSchematicResources(j).SchemResource = Worksheets("Data All").Cells(i, (j * 2) + 91)
swgSchematicResources(j).Amount = Worksheets("Data All").Cells(i, (j * 2) + 92)

swgSchematicResources(j).Index = CInt(Split(Filter(strResourceList, "]" & swgSchematicResources(j).SchemResource & "|", True, vbTextCompare)(0), "|")(1))

End If

-------------------------
I don't know VB, but that is where debug points me; specifically, it highlights the array(?) right above 'End If'. After this happens, it won't generate anything (schematic names, my resources, current reported resources from the site) on the What To Harvest Today page.

I'm not sure what I did wrong in the spreadsheet, but if someone can tell me what this refers to, I may be able to find out.

Thanks

trilo 12-19-2006 12:51 PM

It seems that you have entered a misspelled resource. You can get the name of the wrong resource when you move your mouse over "swgSchematicResources(j).SchemResource" in the debugger. Then you can search for it on the Data_All page.

sicarusorde 12-19-2006 05:02 PM

Thanks! I hadn't realized I could hover over the code and it would tell me what input was causing the error. Learned something new today.

On that note, I now have an updated data_all sheet for armorsmithing (except for R.I.S) if anyone wants it.

devil500 01-26-2007 06:36 PM

It would be very usefull if you can share with us.

Does anyone have any PRE-CU version of this tool? Ideally one with most/all of the professions in it. I have managed to find the original Foomans 1.6, but i'm looking for Sloejacks, or JNF's tool.

Thanks

Working on an update for the SWGC tool.

Hi all,

Well, it's been a long time coming and it's time to update this tool. I kinda got it figured out but having a little trouble when I add new schematics. Seems like the code is breaking at the point there is a new schematic.

Will keep everyone posted as when it gets complete. Probably need to put more schematics in the sheet too as these are very very old ones. I only use the shipwright ones so I have those updated.

It may be awhile as RL does come first.

If anyone would like to help me re-align the old profession's schematics to the new ICONIC (LOL) professions it would be helpful.

Tharre
