You guys are looking like your having a lot of trouble lemme help ya out... Alright the point of ranks is the cap on fp you can have each rank has a maximum amount you can store. The costs for each rank in the rebel faction go like this. This chart also shows you how much of your rebel points it takes to give 100 to someone else...
To find the limit for faction points you can hold take how many points it costs to become that rank and multiply by 10.1, for example staff sargeant costs 2000 and can hold 20,200.
Also, the costs for bases and turrets for the rebel faction vary depending on your rank.
To place a turret you must have a base also, without a base you cannot place a turret.

When I went overt (which I did so I could get a trooper for my missions) I got sacked by an Imp hiding in Anchorhead. Question... My trooper got maimed badly (being only 2 seconds old and all)... I hear that pets heal. Does this include regenerating after death?

Faction pets can no longer be used in PVE, they can only be used to attack enemy factions, so the Reb Trooper you have can only attack overt imkps, they nerfed it awhile back to stop imps from using ATSTs in PVE.
And when I use my ST pets, they seem to regenerate after death sometimes, but not always. Usually it says "This pet is dead" they do not work exactly like creature pets or droids.

If you get killed while wearing Faction Armor (for what you need to be overt) and clone in a non-alligned or unfriendly Cloning Center then you become covert. But are allowed to stay in your Faction Armor...
Won't be nice to wake up and be nearly naked huh ?
How do you set up a base i mean i hear alot of people talking about em but do you buy them or what? also what is ur opinion of the best pet or soldier? happy playing

Yesterday, I was in my "scouting aorund" mood, when I found another imp city with 3, count 'em, 3 bases. The one closest to me, I went up and investigated, on foot (stupid me). When I got close, I saw a small dish turret, laughing at it, I looked around, a small squad of STs, an ATST, and some general rank or sumat inside the base. I got close, wham! AT-ST on other side of base, I thought, "Cool! I'm covert, so I can just walk around in their base, that sounds fun!" (note: I have done just that with other bases). I got closer, and I found out EXACTLY what the dish turrets do. (note: this was not a Covert scanner) it said exactly, "A Small Dish turret cross-references you as a covert rebel." Basically, I was screwed. luckily, the dang imperials can't hit the broad side of a bantha! The AT-St actually hit me once, but I kept running to my vehicle. I swear I saw a DT too, but I wasn't even incapped. w00t! go me!

This has been killing me for awile now i constantly see people in faction armor running around and there not declared,i tried to equip mine then go covert but as soon as i did(a hour later)it all unequiped and im back to square one=/.Any ideas on how there doing this?
im just wondering how minefields work? does the area of their effect expand the more mines you put in them or are they just very tiny areas as i have seen when i placed it? anyway i was also wondering what the best mine to put in it is and what damage it does to anyone who walks through the minefield? or does it kill instantly?
A minefield is really not all to complicated, if oyu've dealt with them before, but beginers to them can have some trouble.
Okay, so you've spent 500, or so, FPs on a minefield.. but now what to do! To place it, you must find a 1X1 lot. When you find one that suits your location, go overt and double click on the deed. Simply click where you want it, and BAMB! you now own a minefield.
As of about a month ago, any rebel (assuming this is a rebel MF) can place a mine in the device. To place a mine, simply open the field's inventory and drag it in.
Any overt or TEFed (again, assuming this is a rebel MF) Imperial that walks near it will get a little shock, if you are using the faction-bought mines, but (I'm not up-to-date with this, so don't quote me) a weaponsmith can craft a better one!

My friend and I are planning on placing a detachement headquaters in the future. Is there a limit to how many turrets, towers, or dishes that may be placed within the base?
It is my understanding that a base is vulnerable to take over for two hours every 24hrs after it was placed. Does anyone know the steps for taking over these bases and does anyone know how to stop the process. I know it involves a process of different professions using different terminals in the base, but what info I do have is sketchy at best. I've very interested in knowing what panel we use to shut down a take over process once it has been initiated.
You get personnel from the recruiter. You can buy personnel with your faction points if you are overt.
It sucks when they die.

These are the Stats on the Rebel NPC's that my PA has tried out so far...
Faction (Rebel or Imperial)
Hirling Name (ex:Special Forces)
Difficulty Level (ex:20)
Vitality
Health
Action
Mind
Attack Speed (ex:2.0)/ To Hit (ex:0.3)
Damage (ex:155-190)
Faction Point Cost (ex:1200 credits)
Rebels dont have a designated Healer NPC (per se).
However, I have a friend on Lowca and we are both Declared Rebels. He got a Specforce Wilderness Operative. Surprisingly, this NPC WILL heal my friend and my friend's pets.
I have seen this myself and was pleasantly surprised. However... we can't figure out what triggers the Healing Action.. and we are not sure yet how good overall the Heals are.
But ANY Free Healing is better than none. Our best guess so far is that it is Random as to who and when the NPC will heal.
Not sure if other Perk NPC's will do this.
I definitly know that the Senior SpecForce Infiltrator, Senior SpecForce Heavy Weapons, and the Guerilla NPC's do not heal.
Will post more when my current NPC's die. Im trying to purchase all of them.. cycling through the list when I need replacements.
does anyone know how the caps for fps work? i am a rebel corporal. i am at 2863 rebel fp now and still climbing. i thought i read somewhere that it is the base 1k + you ranking points. that would mean that my cap should be 2200 (1k + 400 <lnc corp> + 800 <corp>). i don't want to hit the cap unaware, but i don't want to use points for promotion until i need to.
U don't get better armor with rank progress rank pretty much sets max cap for FP accumulation. I progress in rank (Imp not Reb tho) only when I need to rise my cap. I believe U need to be of some pretty high rank for some installations like HQ even appear in Ur list but since it's 60K FP it's kinda out of my reach in any close future
I have a question. When you see a building PC building of the opposing faction, can you attack it? I cannot seem to, and I am curious is it possible or not.
I would really like to be able to blow up a Imperial mining plant that was left unguarded.
The last time I saw something addressing this question, the answer was: If it's not a "combat" building (Turrets, in other words), you can't hurt it. Go crazy on the turrets, though!

I just reach Colonel and the recruiter told me I have reached the my highest possible rank. However all the posts say that there are more promotions available. Did SOE place a limit to the number of each rank (i.e. 1 Colonel per 50 rebel players etc..) I haven't meet anyone higher than a Colonel yet. I'm also on valcyn server
Yeah, there is no higher rank than Colonel, i'm in the same boat you are, i'm a colonel in the kettemoor galaxy and there's no way to rank up. The posts are all wrong, I think that SOE first decided to have those ranks, but then changed there mind when they made the game, and didn't change the posting (wherever it is) so people still think there are higher ranks. I sent csr a notification asking them what the ranks are though, and hopefully they're reply and if so i'll let everyone else know what they say.
