So you want to take the long and hard path of becoming a TKA Master, also named Steel Hands feared even among the Jedi, because someday you might feel the force coming from deep inside you unlike others having the force around them.

First thing you want to do is visiting a brawler trainer and train novice brawler, from there on climb up the Unarmed combat tree.

The path from master unarmed combat to novice teras kasi is your first step in becoming a very deadly oponent, to become a Teras Kasi Novice you need to earn 125.000 unarmed combat XP, and that is not easy, but its well worth it because when you finally hit Teras Kasi Novice the tide will turn in your favour.

Teras Kasi is much faster, alot more lethal than a brawler, this i can't say enough, this is THE difference in gameplay, and going from soloing gnort lair's earning 60xp a kill to earning 1200xp a kill doing white/yellow/red con mobs is a blast, and sure is alot more fun also.

Since you are specializing in unarmed combat you also have to plan your attacks alot more, just by attacking a mob wont get you anywhere else that you end up dying and have to spend downtime in a medical center, alot of strategy and planning is required to go for the phat XP mobs that con yellow and red to you, and yes it's totally doable, besides it's also alot more fun to grab a hard challange and harvest the XP reward after, as a Teras Kasi Novice the power to do so is all yours.

To Vibro or not to Vibro?

There is currently no other answer to that than vibro knucklers will make it alot more easy for you, and its also the only way you will ever be able to defeat a red con mob as the game situation is now, especially after the knockdown nerfs.

You need good knucklers so avoid the bazaar crap floating around, buy a new pair with 20-115 dmg delay 2.5, or even better, after you do that go visit your favourite smuggler and let him slice them for an even more insane weapon boost, when you have done all the above you are ready to kick ass.

A side note on using knucklers that will make your life much easier is when using special moves, unequip your knucklers when doing them and put them back on after the special move has been fired off, currently the HAM costs with knucklers on for special moves are insane, so my advice is to hotkey you knucklers for fast switching.

The way to plan your battle tactic and win :

Yes you probably know by now that even brawlers have various ways of attacking an oponent, and being a Teras kasi wil only advance your arsenal of deadly moves, but to be a winner you need to do alot more than just hitting the attack key, using your head and figuring out the targets weaknesses is only way to win.

Knockdown moves are currently one of your best ways to cripple an enemy, with success the target will loose and attack round, that matters alot on things that con yellow/red to you, when they cant hit you they cant hurt you, but you can sure hurt them giving you a good and lethal advantage in combat, be prepared to loose though sometimes they will resist to much and you have to run off saving your own butt, knockdown is a good tool but dont rely on it always as your only move sent to you from heaven, you are Teras Kasi after all and is capable of doing alot more havoc than knockdowns only.

The weakness of a stunned, blinded and Intimidated man :

Plain and simple you have to successfully blind, intimidate and stun your target, there is no exception to this as it will likely be your downfall without doing so.

By blinding and stunning your target it will make it a much much easier target to kill, on this im very serious it will lower the targets defenses and attack speed, and when you have a yellow/red con target thats something that needs to be done or you are game over... period.

side note : on blinding, stunning... it usually stick better when a target is knocked down to the ground, so the following combo will do :

    Knockdown target
    Intimidate target
    Knockdown target
    Blind target
    Knockdown target
    Stun target

When you have successfully applied stun, blind and intimidate its time to move on and finalize your kill and harvest the XP, the final thing you will do is go Bezerk this will literally slice the target into pieces when you weild a vibro knuckler, it will also lower your own defense but since you already applied stun, intimidate, blind it wont matter that much as the target is doing ALOT less damage to you.

REMEMBER to reapply your special attacks if the fight lasts that long(and it usually will), the technique is to constantly keep your enemy weakened and crippled during the fight, so cinstantly keep this combo running :

    Knockdown target
    Intimidate target
    Knockdown target
    Blind target
    Knockdown target
    Stun target

    Special Attack wears off
    Knockdown target
    Reapply worn off special attack
    Bezerk off
    Knockdown target
    Go bezerk again

Hope you get the general idea of the above battle combination, fiddle around with it for fun and feel the differnece on mobs without the special attacks on, you are a Teras Kasi learn to become one with your moves before they wear off on your prey.

How to single pull mobs off lairs to prevent deadly gangbang :

So you have mastered your skills learned to time every move you make and found out that your have become very lethal, a machine sculpted for devastation, but having trouble fighting several yellow/red con mobs at same time, behold the answer is here for you.

After studying the general mob AI in SWG thru trial and error i have found out that getting singles without adds aint that complicated really, all it comes down to is studying the mobs around the lair.

Let me take plains cats lair as an example :

You see a lair with 2 female plains cats and 1 male plains cat, all 3 are yellow cons to you, and you know getting them all will be game over for you, how the hell do you get them single since they are all aggressive?

Just like in the real world the females of a lion pack in africa will defend the male, the male is usually a sloppy ass not doing much.

How do i apply that to SWG? well the developers have tried to copy real life animal AI into the game it seems so the above theory actually happens if you attack the Male plains cat, both the females will start rushing you.

But i dont want to use guns how the heck do i get them to me without all of them is coming? the good thing is that you dont need ranged weapons, and you dont need to run to the mob to get its attention.

All you need to learn is what mobs assist eachother, show hostility toward the male plains cat from distance and immediatley the 2 female plains cats will show hostility towards you and begin to run your way.

That itself would be a bad idea, because you will end up with 2 yellow cons and they will rape you badly, no the idea is getting singles remember?

The whole idea here is that the male plains cat dont give a flying fart about his females, females do give a damn about eachother though(so thats what you use for your advantage), so to get a single female plains cat target one of them and hit attack from the radial menu(from maximum distance), the other female will try to defend the other and will run after you, but the cool feature here is that you dont do any damage to the target so she wont come also, and the male plains cat dont give a damn anyway.

When 1 female plains cat is at your camp spot go thru the already mentioned battle techniques and harvest your phat XP when she dies.

You have managed to kill the cats around the lair but the lair is still not smoking what do i do now?

Well first thing you wont do is to run in and try to blow it up, careful planning is needed here or you will get gangbanged when the nest repops.

The way to successfully wipe a lair is by using your head, when there are no mobs around it, thats does not mean there are not more mobs inside it, and by hitting it they sure will get pissed off and come out.

So what you do is run to the lair hit it one time not more(immediatley peace, peace after you hit it), and run back to the camp spot you killed the others at, after a few seconds the other mobs from inside the lair wil start to repop around it.

Usually a lair holds up in between 15+ mobs, so thats what you have to kill before you can actually blow up the lair itself.

bear in mind though clearing a lair of yellow/red con mobs can take time, depending on the mobs it can vary from 60-120 minutes, but the xp is totally worth it.

do the math 15-30 x 1000-1500 xp + 3000 xp for the blown up lair, nice eh..... i usually get around 30-50k xp on clearing a lair, it varies a bit though.

side note : NEVER EVER target the mob lair and attack it when there are mobs around it , the lair is linked to aggro all the surrounding mobs around it, all mobs will defend their lair, and well will end up raping you.

I have a ugly friend and he is named to much downtime :

Yes killing badass mobs will hurt you bad, how do i avoid that much downtime? answer is pretty straight forward, become : novice scout, novice medic, novice entertainer as well

    Scouts :

Making camps makes your health regenration rate go much faster, you can tend your wounds and dance to heal mind wounds while at camps as well, besides your best friend will be the /maskscent ability, this ability will save your ass more than once on a bad lair single mob pull, second best friend here is improved burst run ability.

    Medics :

Being capable of crafing stimpacks and wound packs will not only make your life alot more easy, but having some stimpacks will eventually turn the tide of battle if you get beat up to much, stimpacks and wound packs are your best friend, and they lower downtime alot, besides you are financing it all by selling your harvested hides off creatures.

    Entertainer :

Ever walked into a cantina and there are no entertainers around? well after trying that way to much i decided to take this as well, when no one is around you can still take care of yourself healing your mind wounds, and run to a cantina and do your own battle fatique.

Besides its actually quite a blast to stand out in the field in your setup scout camp dancing boogie woogie wiggling your ass around, hell even the Kaduus and Gualamas on Naboo enjoy watching you.

You dont need to be a master in special field to be useful, only take the skills that will benefit your downtime, and you will have plenty of skillpoints left to master Teras Kasi.

i guess that should be all needed for you to get started in a really cool and different profession, good luck and happy hunting.

You can never attack lairs straight after killing the mobs outside.
Here is the step by step of doing a lair:
      1. kill all the mobs outside
      2. once the mobs are gone start hitting it just 1 or 2 times and the mobs will appear again.
3.once you have finished them start hitting the lair down to about 60% that is when the next lot appear. kill them
      4. once that is done all you need to do is finish off the lair.

(for human mobs the only ones you get are the ones outside)

Look first of all this is really really old - from July. You guys are mostly answering things that do not work for TKA anymore. I am Master Teras Kasi Artist on Tempest server. Those combos won't work and TKA got once nerfed then we got stronger in other way so what I am sayin' nothing is updated here. The best thing u can do in PVP is Dizzy & Knock Down [Later Knockdown 2 already has dizzy, no need to do it before]. It takes people up to 20-30 sec to stand up in PVP. Of course there are some that resist or stand beofore that, but usually I beat anyone once i do dizzy / kd on them. That's the best thing we have. Intimidate is great but these things won't really work in PVP. And about NPC's....most of them return to normal in like 7 seconds if u do dizzy lunge / kd. KD is better all the way tho. Humanoid npc's stay knocked down for a longer time, I don't know why but animals stand up pretty much immediately which is kinda "ghey".
Ask me questions if u need. Emaild is Nemesis@Rage-Systems.com

You can use your harvested resources (organics) to start making stimpaks as a novice medic, word of advice, get a couple or 3 chem/food crafting kits since the delay before the finished products on some can be long.

IMNSHO I feel that actively persuing rifle skills is folley unless you feel youre going to be stuck soloing all the time. If you decide to become a dual master in something, get scout or medic (and for the really ambitious, combat medic) the debuffs are worth it.

I'm not sure about Meditation III because I skipped from II all the way to IV (was doing too well to bother going to train). Your Power Boost lasts longer as you go up in Meditation as well.

All levels of Meditation will increase your regeneration rate (damage).

If your battle fatigue is over 200 you *definately* need to visit the cantina and rest. You will take more damage all around and be less effective.

Bulls***!  I'm using Advanced Obese, 65% special protection (kinetic), and with my armor on I can take on a red con and two yellow cons at once -- without armor I get slaughtered in seconds.

It has to be *good* armor, though. If you can train to Master Doctor so you can enhance your stats, you can make up for the encumbrance and it's just a win/win situation. You're basically unstoppable.

Has anyone ever tried to go master TK, master ranger? Im wondering if the enhanced survival skills/movement speed and trapping (debuffs) + camo or stealth skills of the ranger are worth going after or if it is better to just stick with master scout and take some Medic and Marksman skills to round you out?

am working that path right now actually.  traps are a great help in a way, much cheaper hamwise to toss a trap to stun and to blind then it is to do it with unarmed stun or blind.

Foraging of stat food helps too as does the creation of camps for downtime. If only foraged foods coudl heal bf hehe.

Well, let me add up that if you really want to get less downtime when killing mobs, get organic chemistry 4 and make stimpacks C. Those heal for more than 500hp and are a lifesaver for melee characters when soloing. One thing you should do if you do, its to migrate your stats to put willpower and focus to the max, which will make you regen mind fast which is the HAM bar you use when healing. On top of that I would suggest getting master in pistol. This will help you in case you need to run and keep shooting at the mob and hopefully it dies before you do. One thing I do in hard combat, is to go melee and if I get beat up badly to soon, run and  start blasting away with pistol and couple of threaten shots to keep the mob at range to get time to heal up and when have decent health again, stop, equip vibroknuckler and go melee again. This doesnt work all the time but if definately helps on most fights. On top of that pistol tree gives bonuses to melee defense. You cant go wrong with TK/pistol/organic chemystry 4 hybrid class...in fact I believe is the ideal hybrid class for unarmed combatants. Of course getting points on other skill trees like survival helps alot too.

If it's the same follow problem I was having (would follow, but character would only run forward, not turn if the leader turns); then turn off the "chase cam", this should be on the number pad ./del key.  It was frustrating for me too, especially since no one was on chase cam and didn't know what the heck was wrong with my character.

following a mob is just like following a leader in a group, you will run the same speed. You need to also use your mouse and run up to him, it's just useful to be able to stay with him when he decides to bug out because you're pummeling the life out of him.

so keep following, but run manually to keep close.

that's with KD nerfed to last 10 sec total.. still holds, yeah baby!

Don't know if this is a recent nerf or not - if the target is KD'd and you do KD on it again it automatically rises, so spamming KD is just going to knock it straight back up again =).

One tip is trying to have a WS Experement on the Effectiveness of the Knucklers he/she makes.  Honestly Crafters in this game have quite a lot to learn, but the game is still in it's infant state. But back on subject, A skilled WS can craft a Good Damaging, Low HAM cost Knuckler if only they choose to.
