  • New Padawan Leveling! Version: Final

This is my first attempt at a guide, and I'll be updating it every time I pick up something new, so check back often. The guide is now stickied on SonGouki's "Jedi Archives" post.

    I. Stuff you need
    II. Where to Level
    III. Leveling Strategy
    IV. Lightsaber Novice and Beyond
    V. Lightsaber Stats

    I. Stuff you need :
    1. Training Saber of course
    2. Buffs-Health, Constitution, Strength, Action, Quickness, Stamina, Focus, Willpower are a must. Mind optional
    3. Droid or animal to group with
    4. Food-Brandy, Canape (optional, might be good for emergencies), Citros Snow Cake (accuracy), Pikatta Pie (dodge), Muon and Neutron always help, Synthsteak is always good as well
    5. If you deem it necessary, having a set of comp on hand will be good if you need to escape and attacking isn't necessary or is too risky
    6. Novice Medic is vital, at least until you have Novice Healer (and you will)
    7. MAKE SURE your radar is set to at least 250 meters to detect possible visibility "issues"
    8. As has been noted, Berserk is VITAL until you get novice saber. Your damage will go from 80 something to 300

    II. Where to Level:

Make sure your droid or pet is grouped with you!

Tatooine- Head to Mos Entha (usually fairly empty) and just north of there you will find a bunch of Scyks (135 xp) and Rogue Banthas (160 xp). The Banthas spawn alone, Sycks don't. You should be able to take 2 or 3 scyks at once. I've been hunting Feral Banthas lately, no missions. They can usually be found around the Espa track in random spawns, and will give 258 xp exactly for about 6 hits to kill.

Corellia-Humbabas seem to be a recommended animal. I know many of them spawn around the Rogue Corsec Base, and you should be able to get missions for them in a group. Dire Cats are viable as well, and not as strong as a humbaba. The males have 1k health and give 220 xp. The females have 800 health and give around 135 xp.

Lok-My home planet. Usually the missions are very easy to get from any player city (I don't reccomend Nym's Stronghold, lots of traffic) so just grab flit lairs. They're all fairly weak so they'll be easy saber kills. I've also heard Spined Snake Recluses have around 1.1k HAM and give 130+ xp

Naboo-The easiest thing to kill here seems like standard Shaupauts and Kaadu. The Kaadu gave around 120 xp per, but had near 4k ham. The Shaupaut have around 1400 HAM, and also give around 120 xp.

Rori- At Novice Lightsaber, try the Borgle and Torton POI's for some quick xp towards your next novice box. Make sure that they are empty before you break out your saber, I won't take the blame for your visibility. You can get some low-level Tattered Torton missions from Narmle as well. Two-shot those for 120-500 xp depending on type and lair.

At 100 solid xp per kill, you have 200 kills to Novice Lightsaber. Most everything you can kill gives at least that much, so it will be a bit less than 200 kills.

    III. Leveling Strategy:
As soon as you can, get Novice Lightsaber. After that, it would be in your best interest to get novice in all disciplines (Healing, Powers, Defense) to up your force pool as much as possible. Personally, I would do them in the following order: Saber, Healing, Defense, Powers. Saber will give you the generation one schematics, Healing will let you heal your health, which seems to be the most damaged pool when grinding low level animals. Defense will give a few mods, primarily melee and ranged defense, and up your force pool again. Finally, Powers will let you scare animals away at novice, which is quite useful should you bite off more than you can chew.

Once you have novice in everything, it'd be a good idea to begin leveling saber in order to increase your damage output. I would reccomend beginning with Double-Bladed because you can get an area attack on your first levelup, which means your xp gain rate can be at least doubled.

Keep in mind, getting more novice skills WILL make your bounty missions worth more, so be careful with your visibility!

    IV. Novice Lightsaber and Beyond
It is important to note that at novice saber, with a generation one saber, your force cost will be around 14, unless you have some awesome crystals. It is because of this that I suggested picking up as many of the novice disciplines as you see fit to up your force pool and regen. The strategy for Novice Lightsaber to the next skill is to use the saberhit 1 of your choice. I have done some extensive use of the 1hand saber and the polearm saber, and I can safely say that it seems the polearm saber will go 200 points higher on damage at more or less the same speed.

Endor- I spent much of my time at novice saber on Endor simply because there are so many things to kill. Missions for Borgle Life Sappers are easy to come by and grant between 630 and 701 xp per kill if you are grouped. Bolle Bol Stompers give around 523 xp and 700 for the lair if grouped. The Borgle Bats poison, but the poison tics for about 90 at a time so it's nothing major. I had meditate in TKA so I shrugged it right off. If you have force healer novice you can use the force to heal the damage you take from the poisons. Pretty much anything on Endor is fair game except animals with dizzy/kd. The Gorax goes without exception, as do Arachnes because of their NASTY poison.

I suggest leveling solely on Endor until you have enough xp for Saber 1. More importantly, you will hit harder and quicker. The Research Outpost seems to be an easy place to find the animals you're looking for. Good luck!

Endor again: At Saber 1, start pulling missions for Crazed Gurrecks, as they give around 650 xp per and are easy kills.
Only around 6k ham, and you can hit for 1400+ per swing at this point.

Stick to Endor until Saber 2. At this point, you have two choices.

Endor: Crazed Gurrecks, Fierce Borgles, Borgle Life Sappers, and weaker Bark Mites are all within your effective range now. Keep swingin until Saber 3!

Dantooine: Quenkers give around 573 xp per, and die very quickly (4 hits). Savage Quenkers are stronger and give around 753 xp per, AND they don't deathblow. Not too hard to do, just time consuming. Keep grinding!
