    1. Migrate stats to increase your Constitution, Stamina, and Willpower to at least 500 each for faster refresh.

    2. Grab a Novice in Med, Ent, Art, Scout no matter what your profession to help assist your friends online.

    3. Grinding is not cheating...It can be taken too far but to increase in one stat to be a more effective member of a group is not a bad thing.

    4. Collect 1K bone and 1K hide and then make camps until your inv fills up. Then camp/uncamp over and over to grind EXP for Scout. Continue until you reached desired level.

    5. Collect 1K Hide 1K Chem to make stimpacks. Grind Med.

    6. Collect 2K Metal 1K Chem to make non General Crafters. Grind Art.

    7. Make a bunch of instruments. Grind Ent.

    8. Extractors waste a lot of time and money and using an Alias will collect more materials than two Extractors running all night.

    9. 4cr each material is normal going rate. Sell resources 3cr each material for fast cash. This should only be done at increments of at least 100 resourcese of one type. (We need more low-grade-ore)

    10. tip at least 1cr per point of BF to entertainers. At least 1cr per wound to Meds. Never tip less than 100cr.

    11. Make Macros for everything...Macros are built into the game under CTRL A macro. Use them for speaking or combat or even sampling and flourishing.

    12. Make a Shoot Peace Macro /attack;/pause 2;/peace for nests on Destroy Missions.

    13. Make a combat Macro for animals that will harvest after several attacks and a seperate macro for NPC's that loot after killing.

    14. Experiment on Scopes for increase speed and Experiment on Muzzles for increased damage.

    15. Buy and wear a pack to store your stuff. If wearing a pack when dead you may have to repack and reloot.

    16. NPC's give more exp than critters and they drop (sometimes) useful stuff.

    17. use the /waypoint -5868 -6189 command often and frequently. Rename the waypoints and save them. Delete waypoints that are unneccesary if the WP's areeven working

    18. Never pay for skills from NPC trainers (except Novice) as long as you tip people for the Teach, you can usually find people willing to teach you. Masters have all the skills in your prof and will usually teach for free. Still always tip.

    19. /rtell , /pointat , /assist , /peace , /disband , /leave , /tendWound Constitution , /flail , /chestpound , /cheer, are all very useful.

    20. Use Num lock key when walking in a group so you can walk and type.

Even though tatoonie has 2 suns shining on it, it is usually not a good place to harvest solar power.

Most of the people who complain about whats "fair" in this game have multiple accounts and characters per server.

Lots of people still think role playing is cool.

fact is, SOE has enough to track on all the servers than to read people's in game emails and find out who uses the macros. the devs programmed in the ability to use macros, they expected people to use it to their advantage. so be it.

Grinding is boring and a waste of time.

You can get plenty of general crafting xp, med craftig xp, and camping xp without grinding.

A much funner and equally effective piece of advice would be:

      Do your thing.

      Camp when you need to.

Make stuff you need while resting in camp.

In that way you're doing it all at once without mind-numbing boredem.  I never ground anything, and had a very easy time making master scout just by hunting and camping and making stuff when I needed it. I also got throught the first 3 levels of medical crafting the same way...and can only imagine how much general crafting xp I'd have gotten throughout that time period, if I were an artisan.

Grinding is sometimes necessary, but as mentioned above, you can do multiple grinds simultaneously.  Start by finding yourself a nice place to survey. Set up a camp and begin massive surveying. While surveying, craft whatever hits your fancy. When you get tired of surveying, sit down. (Ideally, with good action and mind stats you can go 20+ minutes from full HAM). After half an hour, disband your camp and set up a new one (you should get 600 Survival xp, max possible from the basic camp). Keep surveying, crafting, and flip flopping your camp and you'll gain a LOT of multiple types of experience.

Alternately, if you just want to pound the ground for a few hours for resources and do other things, stop in on occasion and set up a new camp. For overnight sampling, use the macro guides on this site to keep you going for several hours.

You misunderstand the issue if you think that the prohibition is against running macros.  The prohibition is against running the game in an unattended mode, regardless of the method. Also, what you are doing is considered an exploit, which, I believe, also violates the agreement. Look, I know you do not want an ethics lecture from someone you do not know, so let's just look a the practical side.

Leaving your character unattended to run macros or otherwise racking up XP while you are sleeping ties up server resources (memory, CPU time, IP traffic, etc.) which could be devoted to making the game run more efficiently for those who are taking the trouble to actually be working their character up levels. And that is unfair. If you were playing a single-player game on your own computer, more power to you if you find something like this. It is your time, and the resources are yours to waste. But every resource you use in a multiplayer game is a resource not being devoted to someone else's game play. And that is a big difference.

So the next time you run stutteringly into the cantina griping about lag, think about the CPU time and other resources being wasted by people who are not even bothering to sit at the keyboard while their character racks up points. Then think about all the CPU time and other resources you have taken from other people while you were catching a snooze.

        Just something to think about.

Well, you're paying to play on the servers, so in theory you should be allowed access to them whenever you want, as you pay for your position on them.

Having said that, MMORPG devs usually go by the assumption that there will only be a fraction of the total number of players online at any one time - (ie ~2000 per server), and they don't account for every single paying customer to be online all the time.

Hmm.... might have missed it, but does the user agreement say anything about not using "looping" macros??  It's standard policy in a MMORPG to prohibit use of a third party utility to do so, but in SWG, it's quite possible to do so only using the built in game functions. This site has a few guides in the guide section that explain how to do so.

My personal favorite "looping" macro is my AutoHeal macro. I'm just a novice medic, and if someone has a few hundred points of wounds, it would take me forever to heal them back up. What I do is target the patient, and start up the AutoHeal macro which uses a woundpack stim on the patient as quickly as my skills allow me to. This does make the game more fun for me, because it allows me to talk and chat while still healing the patient to my full efficiency. And I'd like to second something I heard elsewhere. More so than any other MMORPG, this game is more about interacting than exp grinding.

You are correct, but you are missing the point.  The quote mentioned above is not about prohibiting the use of macros. It prohibits the use of macros to play the game in an unattended mode. So all these macros on how to setup a continuous loop so you can gather resources overnight while you sleep are a clear violation of the agreement, doubly so since they are also distributing it.

The medical macro mentioned is clearly not a violation if it is being used the way described. The player is at the keyboard and interacting with other players while the macro runs. That is the intent of any such macro system, to free up the player to work on other in game tasks, not to allow you to boost XP while you are off in RL doing something else. On the other hand, start that same macro then run off and eat dinner or watch a movie, and you would violate the agreement.

The intent of the provision is to stop extended unattended play, not the use of macros.

I totally agree. Never pass up an oppurtunity to kill a nest of tabages. They run very slowly have a weak attack even if you want to stand there and let them beat on you and they give great xp.
