  • Running Multiple Copies of SWG

    Many players ask how they can run multiple copies of SWG at one time. This guide is here to help players understand the relatively simple process of altering the game to allow for this special feature! Enjoy!

    1) Open a word processing program such as Notepad or WordPad.

    2) Type or copy the following lines directly into the new docuement:

      [SwgClient]

      allowMultipleInstances=true

    3)Save the document to your main Star Wars Galaxies folder (usually C:\Program Files\Star Wars Galaxies) with the name "User.cfg". Be sure that the extension is listed as .cfg and not .txt or this will not work! You may have to go into the Folder Options menu (click the Tools bar on the toolbar and from there click on Folder Options, click the View tab, then click Show Hidden Files and Folders and Apply) and enable the viewing of file extensions. Once this is done make any needed changes to the User.cfg filename and extension.

    4) Open Star Wars Galaxies as your normally would. Once you are signed in press Alt and Tab to minimize the game. From here simply start up another copy of SWG and you're good to go! Don't forget to use Alt and Tab to switch between games.

      I tried the way Treal did it and it does work, you have to capitalize the S and The C and put it in the main Star Wars Galaxies folder but make sure its not saved as a .txt file, if it is, rename the last part of the file to a .cfg and it will work. The only downside is that I would highly recomend no less than 1gb memory and at least 2Ghz processor speeed. My PC lagged badly when I got it to work and was having video issues when i tabbed over to the other charachter.

      Well I tried this little trick and I couldn't get it to work. What type of magic are you using to get this to work for you.

        I got it to work, but had to change the [swgclient] to [SwgClient]
