Something that's always annoyed me is that, if you get a client crash, then all your logs (chat/spatial/combat/guild etc) are lost for that entire session, it looks like the game doesn't update them until you actualy logout. - Date unknown

Upon a client crash, you must either wait for a few mins or if you restart the client straight away, you get as far as the loading into galaxy screen (at which point your char then goes offline and shows as LD), and then have to restart the client again at which point you will be able to actually arrive in the galaxy.

Something is currently corrupting the TRE files (no it's not my HDD) which sometimes full scan does not find, but runnning Trefix (takes about 10mins) will find resulting in a download of said corrupted archive.

Currently supported Nvidia Drivers are 71.89, Nvidia's current release is 78.01 (which has had 77.72,77.76,77.77 at least released in between) - This is starting to cause issues as the 71.89 drivers are not supported by some newer cards eg geforece 6500 is only support in version 78.01

That'll do for now - prolly more use posting em here than on the bug thread, since they don't acknowledge there's a bug

on the network status box... i keep the option under ctrl O/misc checked.  used to keep the box on the screen all the time.  but now i have to recheck the box every time i log in.

it is possible other things under ctrl O are also being reset to default at logout but nothing else is that obvious.

glzmo updated the main post:

17. Lava on Mustafar is an atrociously blocky mosaique of rectangles on Nvidia GeForce 6 and 7 Series videocards
When playing Trials of Obi-Wan on an Nvidia GeForce 6 or 7 series videocard (no matter which driver is installed) with pixel shader set to optimal, 2.0 or 1.4, most lava streams look like a red/yellow checkerboard of rectangles. This looks really ugly and "makes one's eyes bleed".  Setting the pixel shader to 1.1 in launchpad produces less ugly lava, but the graphics look much worse overall and the performance goes down. Here are a few screenshots so you can make yourself a picture (2x Nvidia GeForce 7800GTX SLI, pixel shader 2.0, all eye candy maxed out):
http://img436.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mustafarlavalivegeforce7800gtx.jpg
http://img421.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mustafarlavalivegeforce7800gtx.jpg
http://img487.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mustafarlavalivegeforce7800gtx.jpg

Some of the smaller lava streams look better, however. To see the contrast, on the following screenshot you can see the nice-looking small lava stream coming down the hill from the right and flowing into the big, bugged lava stream to the left:
http://img440.imageshack.us/my.php?image=toowlavajunctiongeforce7800gtx2.jpg
This issue has been live ever since the Trials of Obi-Wan Expansion was activated for pre-order customers (October 25 2005) - but it was also present and heavily bug-reported by beta testers in the TOOW beta since the first lava "improvement" was made.

18. Mouse pointer accuracy in menues is slightly inaccurate
Ever since publish 24 (October 19 2005), the mouse pointer has been slightly inaccurate. You have to aim a millimeter or so higher than the object you would like to click on to be able to do so successfully.

Something that's bugged me for a long while is the group list box is unmovable and overlaps the states list for the player character's HAM/state box when left in it's default position. Either you get to see your states or you get to see the group leader's name and health bar, unless you move your own HAM/state box somewhere else on the screen.

Here's my personal UI bug list, which is just a small piece of my overall list that I post in every bug thread I can:

User Interface

· The /bug interface is applicable to about 13 publishes ago. It needs to be updated (i.e. add JTL and CU stuff, etc.). (Publish 11)

· Exp gain messages no longer appear as a system message. There should be an option to display them as such if we want. Add an option to turn off faction gain/loss system messages, too (those are more spammy than the exp message). (Publish 22)

· Exp gain message in the combat tab says, "You gain Jedi (Pistol, Rifle, Medical, etc.) experience". It doesn't tell you how much you got. (Publish 22)

· The fly-off exp text does not match the jedi/combat/scout/medical exp granted. (Publish 22)

· HUD opacity resets every time you zone, or if you turn the HUD off then on again, or if you move a piece of the HUD. The opacity slider bar remains where you set it, but the actual opacity of the HUD resets to default. If you move the opacity slider bar the HUD opacity will change to your setting until one of the above actions is taken, then it resets again. I found one instance that does NOT cause the opacity to reset: launch into space, hyperspace to another system, fly to a space station, ask to land. This is the only time you can zone and not reset HUD opacity. (CU Publish 15)

· HAM bar window still resets to default size and becomes un-resizable. It is linked to buff icons. If you have a buff icon you can resize the HAM bar, but once the icons go away the bar resets to default size and becomes un-resizable (you can resize it, but it instantly shrinks back to default size). If you get a buff icon you can resize it again. (CU Publish 15)

· The target reticule size slider (JTL option) position is saved; however, when you log into space the first time each session the actual target reticule size (the big circle around your aimer) is the default size regardless of what your slider says. If you click the slider once the circle pops down (or up) to the correct size. The correct size will be remembered between space and ground during that session, but if you log out next time the actual size will be back to default even though the slider remembers your setting. (JTL Publish 11)

· Your language resets to Basic when you log out. It should remember what I set it at, or make a species default to their language (i.e. Trando's default to Dosh on log-in). (Day 1 bug)

· Options doesn't remember the setting of the 'show detail objects' check box. This option was said to be inactive, so it should be removed as an option. (Day 1 bug)

· Waypoints are no longer activateable if you are not in "the same zone" as the waypoint. You get a system message saying something like "Cannot activate waypoint because it is in a different area". This makes tracking bounty targets across planets and driving far distances very annoying. Does not happen on Mustafar, but happens on every other planet. (ToOW Publish)

the problem with most of these bugs is directx 9.0c has major flaws in its core programming. even microsoft admit that, but no new direct x will be released until late next year.

so, it's not soe's fault. its microsofts fault, for issuing a standard that is flawed and should not be used

Section 15, the bit about 2 sets if EULA coming up is something i have never ever had nor has anyone i know in game had, we have always only received 1, are you sure this isn't just something that is a 'quirk' on your machine?

I can confirm that it appears to be the older original starwars game purchased in th UK that has this problem, i have an original boxed version which throws the EULA up twice at login, my friend uses the Total Experience again bought in the UK and has no problems, however the same happens on the game EQ2 and this is apparently due to the fact that we are using American servers from the UK mainland and therefore have to abide by 2 different EULA's specific to each country.

Here's my current pet peeve:

Too many text commands don't have an associated hotbutton.  Yes I could create them, but that's not my job.  The current Tuesday Tip is a good example.  Why isn't there a hotbutton to abort hyperspace jumps? Somehow I had to know that if you type the text (which I've already forgotten), then you can abort.  There are tons of these commands that should have preset icons.

I'd like to add a couple (forgive if I've missed it)

Jedi Experiance is not showing correctly, present since the new XP feedback, shows XP that a regular profession would get.

More often than not, you don't get to see how much XP you earn (whatever amount/type) since the HAM on the mob you have just killed remains for a few seconds covering up the "New and improved XP feedback" that everyone was screaming to be implemented because plain white text displaying EXACTLY what you earned in plain english was clearly too complicated. /sarcasm&rantoff. The HAM remains a couple of seconds longer than the XP figures. I wonder if its actually intended from the origional patch that nerfed the XP and never removed. (Hoping no-one would notice the lack of new XP I mean)

I'm experaincing this on Eclipse.

I had this trouble for some time. Let me explain how and when it started happening;

I'd backed up a total experiance instalation (I bought it to reduce download times should I do a windows reinstall) I lent the copy of total experiance to my friend who was interested in having a look at the game.

I had picked up a SATA drive and couldn't use it as a main HDD so ended up loosing the SWG folders, I use it now as a 2nd disk drive and is where I have game installed.

I installed my first copy of SWG (imported shortly after US release) and the Jump to lightspeed expansion then moved all the files from the back up DVD to the SWG folders. (note the back ups were from a Total Experiance instalation) After doing that I had to accept twice before I got to point where it requests username and password.

Lateron I tried a different method of setting up that damn SATA and reinstalled the game and let it patch itself the regular way (Still the import and Jump to Lightspeed expansion)

Everything has been fine since.

Mental note to self: Get my Total Experiance back from friend!

See the NGE -UI Discussion thread. Please Send help we're dying there!

We have problems that need fixes, Tuesady is three days from now and we have an nearly non usable UI.

Non-Unusable  in that:

  1. Disabled Players are nearly unable to even play the game.
  2. Nothing can be moved resized to wehre visually challened people can read it.
  3. Macros and commands frequently refuse to be bound to a key, or a mouse.
  4. The mouse UI fails to trigger or perform -selected taskes.
  5. The mouse frequently 'hangs up' until you bash the keyboard.... (Dang if I know why pound at the keys makes it unstick but it does....)
  6. The KEY MAP is BORKED.
  7. Players have to REWORK 98% of the UI by hand and still do not have any decent fucntionality.

I love the game, but I have issues with being discounted becuase I am a- disabled, b- that there has been little or no inprovemnt to the UI since the targetingretical change over.
