One thing I would like to mention on the future formatting of the Revamp proposal is to remember to not get carried away. The devs are more likey to read and understand a concise 5 page document than they are a 10 page, wordy doc. I am by no means suggesting you can only have a 5 page revamp proposal, but if it is too long, it will be less effective.

Thats what i was trying to say before with the cutting out of excess detail (the crap or buffer info). It would be much more effective for us to have a 'to the point' and clearly directed document rather than having an essay which covers every little detail all the way through.
We can go into lots of detail and realy flesh it out but we need to give the option to some readers to simply browse through what they like and then have the CHOICE to follow up and read more if they want.
Aslong as the devs see something they like in the doc, they will be able to read further into it later on but we dont want to bore them going through detail after detail on a feature they dont like. Get em hooked then real them in sort of game, thats how we will succeed.
As a closing section, anyone have any issues with this layout?

Contents: Numerical list of what is included, where to find it etc.
Layout: An explanation about how the doccy is set out
Ranger Role: What a ranger should be all about. Primary Role, Sub-Roles
The Ranger Tree: A overview of the ranger tree highlighting the 4 tiers, and their repsective roles and integration into the profession.
Tree Breakdown: Go through each branch of the tree individually fucusing on skills, mods, roles. Abilities, counters, knowledge.
Impact on SWG: A detailed review of how we think ranger would impact the game as a whole, how combat would be changed and how we would fit in. This would be split into 4 areas. Combat, Grouping, Income, Overview
Tactical examples: Some short fictional stories related to the new ranger set up. How would you use them, what possible tactics would arise.
Closing thoughts: A community wide final thought highlighting why we think we should get this, how it would benefit swg and basically anything else we want to add.
Apendixes: A 'in more detail' section devoted to advancing on the core ideas suggested in the rest of the proposal. The idea is that if the devs want to read more and find out the implementation proposal etc then they can look it up in the apendixes. I would rather list the core functions and impact on the game in the main section and then go into detail about limitations etc in the apendixes.
After kicking it around in my head for a couple of days. I could not come up with anything better. Lets stick with this layout, unless my fellow Rangers have something against it.

We already have lots of proposals made by rangers. This one is a joint effort, a sort of community revamp.
Its something to put us on until we get our revamp so devs can look in, find exactly what we want and also so we have something that we can link back to that we know the community wants.
Doesnt have to be in, nor does it need to be sent to any person in particular. Its something for us to do to get a clearer picture of what revamp we want without asking for the world.
I think its utterly stupid that the Ranger has to be the ONLY profession with a Novice Master ...... We should be refitted down.. I mean who really camps anymore??? Who uses Traps they dont work on the mods that you are attacking at that level in the first place..

The only reason you don't use them is because they are not as useful as they could be. So instead of dismissing them and dumbing down our lifestyle, how about we get them as useful as they should be.
Look at how dumbed down BH got. Any 'ol joe shmoe can be a BH with little to no effort now. Back in the day if you had a master BH tag people knew you went through some crap to get there. Now it's a no respect prof.

Um.... I do. Three times tonight in the last hour. Me and Ditah and another guildie decided to help the guildie get some carbines XP (he's a MBH but smart enough to hang around Rangers ). Found out that for a 3 person Lvl 80 group, level 80 NPC missions were cake, and level 81 mission NPCs were handing us our butts on platters. Something lik 8 or so spawned right on top of each other, and they just were NOT cooperating on trying to just pull 1 or 2 or anyting like that - it was more like we'd try and pull one, and suddenly the person trying to pull 1 got 8 angry lvl 81 mobs after them all at once. I don't care HOW fast you can burst run with Ranger TN and all that - you're toast in that situation, as you probably should be. So, we had a few wounds to heal a couple times, we took a few trips to the cloner, Ditah got a shiny new cyborg arm (tho it's not hot pink, which I think we all found disturbing). I threw up a couple HTFBs during all of this to heal up our wounds, speed the healing process in general, give folks something visible to look for on the horizon since the group UI isn't updating exactly correctly still so you can "lose" your group when you're coming back from the cloner, etc.
If anything, camps already seem a lot more useful at least to me, since I still like to hunt alone or in small groups with fellow rangers or guild members primarily, and there just don't seem to be a lot of folks who are bothering to stay Doc in the game so finding someone to actually heal your wounds is sort of difficult these days. However, I can throw down a camp that's equal to a med center in healing for almost no resources if you think about it. That in itself is pretty sweet. I'd love to see the introduction of a modular camping type set of skills as has been discussed previously, along with many of the things in the Outdoorsman 2.0 and other posts on the boards here.
I'm still testing, but I'm certain that the phecnacine darts turned into snares, and I'm checking on the adhesive mesh, but I think they turned into roots. That will make ranger hunting and traps very effective. I'll try out some more tomorrow after the patch, but this could be very exciting for rangers.

There are defenitely things I would like modified in Ranger
Traps - Give us new useful traps. Fix our current Traps. Give Master Ranger Box some cool new Traps.
Camps - Give us Camps with better useful ness such as the Modular Camping Idea brought to light by Owen
Give us special defenses vs Creatures and Wilderness Bonuses.

Planet Specific Traps?
Pit Traps (Basically a hole in the ground we dig then spikes are laid in it.
This trap Causes the Creature To Start Bleeding and Stops them from moving for 20 Seconds as wel as dealing damage. When setting the trap a progress bar is displayed
Planet Specific Lures for Carnivores / Hebivores
Pheromone Goo Trap (Draws Nearby Animals into a Frenzy attacking the Creature Trapped)
Camps
Entrenched Campsites
Progress Bar Displayed when deploying such a camp, give the camp an almost impenetrable barrier (Physical Barriers such as Brush to Match Planets Environment?)
Modular Camps
Possible Modules could be Planet Specific Repellants (If someone is being attacked and they run to the camp the creature is likely to be frightened by the smell and run away and despawn? Also stops Aggro Animals from Spawning within 100 M)

Ranger can keep it as an item that will spit out the info into anyones datapad that pays the fee. So you could set it up in a house like a terminal and someone could pay the fee for a copy into their datapad.
Ranger Hunting Lodge (Like size of a Large House, Ranger Items Crafted inside turn out better, Master Ranger gets +2 Experimentation Points towards Ranger Craftable Items while inside and using the proper crafting station)
Ranger Craftable Folding Chairs (Can be used anywhere as long as your sitting)
Fish Can be Mounted on Plaques (Created by Rangers, or schematic from Ranger Quests)
