Weapons have always been my favorite part to reverse engineer: not only do they have a ton of different stats to collect parts for, but the process allows you to choose from among the available firing graphics of the RE'd parts to select the final look of your weapon. Below is a close to complete list of the dozens of looted guns out there and 12 of the discrete effects they use when firing.
If you want to preserve a specific firing effect for a set of RE'd guns, simply make sure the first weapon you put in your component analysis tool is the gun whose effect you want to end up with. So if you want the Armek Elite's look for your level 10 gun, put the Armek Elite in the tool first. It's a good idea to keep your analysis tool's window open as you drag the guns inside it, as some UIs will re-sort the guns if the window's closed, resulting in unwanted firing effects. A detailed guide to reverse engineering can be found here.
This first post will give links to graphics for each individual firing effect; the second will list gun effects by level; and the last will list guns by effect.
Special thanks to Adonis of Starsider and Sar-larid, both of whom made significant contributions to this list; MTOCatalog, who added the POB gun effects; and my many patient customers willing to wait on an RE job while I tested out unknown firing effects. There are probably still a few guns missing from the list, so anyone who'd like to is most welcome to add on to what we've got here.

Hey, very cool guide! Thanks for all of the work that must have gone into this.
Can we get a sticky here? Or a link from the FAQ?

If these are the first guns placed in a CAT will this be the resulting fire display regardless?

The orange squiggle effect is a really fun one. I had to take multiple screenshots of most firing effects (and about ten for the first one I tried; you have to be a regular Doc Holliday on the trigger finger to capture the projectile at the right moment in space), and when I was sorting through the orange squiggle screens, sometimes the streaks following the lasers were orange while sometimes they were yellow. I realize the verbal description of the graphics is up for debate, but so long as you just compare what's in the screenshots to the tags I use to describe the guns, there really shouldn't be any problems.
As for how to get a specific weapon effect on an RE'd part, yes, it is based on the first weapon you put in the tool. I've added a slightly more detailed rundown of the process to the initial post.

There's something strange going on with that shockwave, actually. One of the guns I wrote down as having it apparently doesn't and I can't find the level 4 I used to have that had it to see if I made a mistake. Tonight I'm going to borrow one I know had it when I was using it before, though, and see what the deal is.
