Hey All,
Just writing this to discuss who knows about the "Holy Floating Shrub"...for those who don't I'll tell you.
Back in the early days of beta, way before I joined the crew, someone found a graphics bug on Tatooine that had shrubbery raised 10 feet above the ground. In-game, the character took this as an omen, an "Act of God" so to speak...Devs tested in-game factions, and made the "Servants of the Shrub" and the "Force Sensitive Sheep".
Funny thing is, one week before beta ended, on Corellia (Bloodfin, I think), someone saw a group of shrubbery floating high above the air...he dubbed them the "Sons of the Shrub". They posted this on the beta boards, and thus began a great flood of comments remembering this, or remembering hearing about this. The funniest one was someone commenting: "Down with the Shrub! All hail the Force Sensitive Sheep!"...The thing that sorta makes me think is this: at their website (which I cant post yet on here for some odd reason), they have pseudo-passages in the "Book of the Shrub", and this one caught my eye:
"The sands will run red with blood, and the non-belivers shall tremble at it's power. The Force will fall to the power of that which was created from it, and the plants of power will once again take their place 10 feet above the sands of Tatooine. The Shrubites will then construct a glourous army and conqure thoses which still cling to the pagan gods."
For the fact that it was one week before beta ended and the game was to be released, and for the fact that some beta testers let their concerns be known that they did not believe the game was ready and did not plan on purchasing it, it thus made the prophecy come true. The Shrubs came back. The "Non Believers" are gone. HAHA!
Disclaimer: Im not crazy in RL...but given the whole immersion factor, dont you agree this is a good in-game storyline? I believe that a PA is actually being created around this premise.
