"It’s often frustrating to work with third party IP. There’s a constant battle over what the right direction is for the game, and from our own recent experience, it’s not something we enjoy. It very often puts handcuffs on what we can and can’t do and, frankly speaking, it’s a lot harder to make great games when the IP holders don’t understand the online gaming market.
The exception to this rule has been our relationship with the team at DC Comics. I have to say they are indeed a pleasure to work with. Jim Lee’s involvement as the Executive Creative Director has been a hell of a lot of fun. I just saw the latest build, and the team has come up with a combat system that I think is hands down the best I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t remotely feel like today’s MMOs. It’s all about the action."
Could he be insinuating that LA/LEC made them ruin the game....

Hmm, interesting... also, maybe it should be mentioned again at this point that Julio Torres is from LEC.
Although frankly by this point I'm mostly beyond caring as to who it was that messed up. Mess up they did, and in a major way, and as a result it's getting more and more depressing to even think about a game I was once addicted to.

I suspect everyone was in one this and now the proverbial has hit the fan and the accountants are baying for blood everyone will points fingers at everyone else. Seen it happen before.
Eventually fingers will settle on a scapegoat and that person will be reamed with the rough end of a pineapple.

Nah could be MXO also.
Yeah, but he talking about all IP's, so he's laying the blame for both those failures on being "handcuffed". If he didn't think the problem was LA/LEC he would of said "The exception to this rule has been our relationship with the team at DC Comics and LA/LEC."
but the exception is only DC Comics, which means (insinuates) the rest follow the rule of the IP "handcuffing" them, and accordingly ruining the game because they don't understand the market, and $OE does.
I'm really looking forward to the DC Comics MMORPG, especially because Jim Lee is involved. He really is an artistic genius. It was a really good move to take somebody as the creative director who was involved with DC Comics as an artist already and is considered to be the top man in the industry right now by many.
It certainly makes me consider to try out a Station Access Account once it is out.
I wish they had involved more people that were dealing with the Star Wars Expanded Universe novels and comics in Star Wars Galaxies as well. It would certainly have created some interesting stories and more things that matter for the continuity and gamesetting.

Oh no doubt. Does everyone remember when the CU was released and all those threads that had LA's phone # and mailing address in them asking us to call and mail them to tell them that LA need to take control of the game and fix it. Well who's idea do you think the NGE is, LA's or SOE's?
