Hello everyone!

I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself. My name is David Jones and I am the Live Associate Producer for Star Wars Galaxies.

I have been working on SWG for over 3 years now, and some of you may remember me from our Community Summits.

I started with SOE in Quality Assurance (with Loche and Taurin!) for SWG, JTL, ROTW, and all the publishes in-between. I definitely enjoyed my time in QA as I was able to learn about nearly every aspect of SWG’s past, present, and future. My experience in QA on SWG is definitely shaping my experiences and direction as a member of the SWG Production team.

My current responsibilities are focused around driving the SWG live publish cycle. In short I work with Rogue_5 to compose, schedule, task, execute, and deliver the publishes and hotfixes.

A bit more about me, other than the whole SOE Associate Producer thing:

o Games I am playing right now: I have been playing SWG, Battlefield 2, Star Wars: Empire At War, and EQII a lot lately.

o Games I am looking forward to: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Pirates of the Burning Seas (Pirates, duh!), and Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy

o Favorite Food: Sushi, Fish Tacos, and REAL Chicago style pizza (the ChiTown folks know what I am talking about here)

That’s about it really… I will be hanging around the forums a lot so feel free to hit me up with questions.

Hi Dev-Vapor

1) In the publish Plan that was released by Rogue_5, there were some good things down there. Going by recent Publish history however, it looks as though that plan wont be realised for anothe YEAR. that will be what, FOUR years since SWG's release? is this so? Also, these publishes are all about fixing the NGE. why wasnt this done before release?

2)who can we talk to and ask direct questions to about the future of SWG and certain SOE employees recent interview answers please? I have a couple of questions I'd like answers too.

3) I hate fish

Why is the only thing on the schedule for Entertainers in the next seven publishes giving them combat? We were told in November that the revamp was coming in Publish 27. Then it was delayed to 28. Then, in the Publish Plan, nothing appears anywhere about it.

Where did it go? Are we not iconic enough to have a purpose in-game?

lol nope dont think you broke any rules with the call on 2nd Mr. Jones (ha reminds me of that song). Anyhow...  prepare yourself for lots of heated questions from the entertainer and crafting community.
 
Driving the live publishes, can you give us some specifics as to when we can expect to see:
1. Creature Handler return
2. Crafter revamp or removal of crafters all together
3. Smugglers smuggling
 
Also, what is your opinion on my idea of sturcture managment?
 
Steps to improve game play through better lot managment
 
 
1. Allow the owner of a structure to determine how many of his/her 10 lots each structure requires. A minimum of 1 would be required for any structure and a maximum of 10 for any one structure
 
example: I own a guild hall and would like increase the amount of storage it holds. I access the admin terminal and select '10 lots'. In the background it checks to make sure that I have these lots available, if i do it grants the action. Result is... I have a guild hall that takes up all 10 of my lots BUT now holds 800 items  (really 1 lot should = 100 items in my opinion thefore giving me 1000)
 
 
This change would allow toons to have all stuff in one spot instead of running around from storage house A to storage house B. In addtion this would allow that second or third toon slot to concentrate on harvestors rather than storage and harvestors.
