not sure if you're still looking at this thread, but can you please take a second and address the state of the in game economy? I'm sure the data on your end of things show what we already know, there is immense inflation. Is the crafting revamp going to try to fix this? This problem has been increasing since the NGE came out, and its only going to get worse as time goes on. Please, please please try to look into this!!

A working, self regulating, player economy is the holy grail of all MMOs. If I knew how to build one of those I could probably also give frogs wings to prevent them from bumping their butts every time they jumped . That was a joke, by the way. Seriously though, if you have some ideas on how to fix it (other than money sinks), I'm all ears.
This odd little creature lives deep underground under most farmers fields. They only appear above ground when a Green Thorn is planted in the field they live in. (The Green Thorn is a resource harvested from Bright Green Snake Plants and Single Barrel Cacti)
The Vorpal Bunny is an extremely fast creature, which can easily hop far away and escape if you don't keep an eye on it. It also has an immense amount of hitpoints that makes it very hard to kill in time.
After being above ground for a little while the Bunny will start to dig a tunnel back to its lair and only leave a mysterious rabbit hole behind.
According to rumors the Vorpal Bunny carries brightly colored eggs...

I don't know.
OK One more question... Should I buy stock in Enron?

What is the fastest land animal?
(edited last question just because)
My sources say "no".
What is a Cheetah, Alex?
Damn ... To late fer me...
What about player run Mission terminals? I got cash I can't spend on squat. What about Me placing a terminal as a crafter to pay X amount for items. Be it resources/items needed for crafting or loot drops that can be traded...
Takes money out of my hands and gives it to players grinding... No NEW cash enters the system. So prices may stabilze and we can help out new players....

It's all the crafters fault tbh...if they didn't try to bleed us combatants dry by charging so much for goods we wouldn't of had to charge more for loot.

Helios if you are still here, mind answering one more question, even if its off topic. If not decay, are the Devs looking at adding more risks/penalties to dying? Right now paying 5k for a cloning sickness is just a mild inconvenience.
I can't. If I actually said what I thought or meant or if I gave all information I had, it would immediately be taken for swg-gospel. Then, a week down the line when something changes (and it will) there will cries for my resignation followed by public execution, right after Fisherm...err... somebody pulls out the 2,382 Volume collection of "Future Lies Of The Developers (or, Everything that a Developer has Said in the history of Ever)".
It's necessary for the greater good to refrain from making any statements that are too narrow in scope, although with this post I've already broken that rule (watch what happens ).
Well the players all take everything you say with a grain of salt and unbelievability anyway. But if you would take responsibility and explain why that idea was shot down, that would make dev tracker a lot more interesting to read, and would make SOE a lot more respectable too. That's what it comes down to, you get all these flames on the forums because you deserve it. Suck it up, take responsibility for your actions and the flames will stop. You didn't see any flames after Pex's apology for missing an entire event did you? NO! Who's going to burn down a guy who owned up to his mistake and apologized in a respectable way. I promise you the guy doing the flaming will get burned down so fast the moderators will think the NGE came again.

Only a response: the RE system remains in the plan. Yes or not.
Sure it is. I also have vorpal bunnies and player generated content in the plan. Some things are more likely to make it into production than others.
What I'm saying is that Reverse Engineering hasn't been cut from any designs, but there's no guarantee that it will go one way or another.
Vorpal Bunnies FTW!
I wonder how many people realize that Vorpal Bunnies originally came from an old Book RPG called Grail Quest ( a quite entertaining line of RPG books, as well, mind you, my fav along with the Lone Wolf series).
But I am curious what you meant by this statement:
"we're now looking more towards creating a new economy for crafters, instead of changing the crafting system itself"
Are you leaning towards crafter PVE (aka crafting for NPCs) in order to supplement crafter income without selling to combat toons?
Just looking for some idea of where the revamp is headed.
Thanks
I should have said "market", not "economy". And, while selling to NPCs might be a minor part, the most important aspect of the crafting market will still be interfacing with other players.
I knew it....

This, unfortunately, is how much of the miscommunication on these forums happen. Out of context snippets that that were said here and there are spun off into their own distinct and seperate realities. You can save yourself a lot of grief if you just take the information posted for what it is, not for what you're afraid it might mean.
Then stop with the cryptic, cloak and dagger one-liners all the time and just say what yhou mean!

Oh, we understand that, but when we hear nothing at all, then we make stuff up, and i know for a fact that i'm rubbish at it and i turn into a doomsayer (DOOOOOM), i get worried over nothing, just some post that says "we've not forgotten about you, have some pie " would go a long way to stopping the anger and frustration that is around.
On that subject, today has been a good day for communication, what with the entertainers getting info, this stuff from you and the thing from Chris (maybe a rant, a deserved one too) and some other stuff too, TH has been around, Swede andswering Qs etc etc etc. KUTGW

PS easily pleased me, promises of pie keep me happy for weeks, mmmmmmmm pie!

I disagree, the 5k is actually quite annoying.
I support the integration of a crafting revamp that does not lead to the greifing of combat players.

Call up that guy.. oh what's his name... the one that you interviewed with and he used to be the liason with Lucas Arts? Hayden something? Blackman maybe? Back before the hologrind, and even through it, SWG had a self regulating player based economy. Then someone came along and made the anti-decay kit, and took out maintainence for houses, and took out all other decay for items. Somewhere in there it got ruined, I can't really place where though. *cough*Julio*cough*
Yeah, I bet Hayden has a frog for you, with wings. I bet it's blue too.
