On his way out the door, he tossed this over his shoulder:

1. Underworld Branch

- I think we are going to try and replace most of these skill boxes with something more usable, since these just aren't very fun. The main issue is finding the time on the schedule to implement some new smuggler skills.

2. Slicing

- We'd like to add slicing code to more types of terminals.

- The problem with weapon slicing giving better results than advanced weapon slicing has been fixed. Slicing 2 had a bonus that Slicing 4 was supposed to have.

3. Dirty Fighting

- Some unarmed moves would be good to add and probably fairly easy. We will look into it.

- We will look into adding combat bonuses to this tree.

- We'll fix last ditch to be balanced with similar moves and we'll look into the other smuggler moves to improve their usability.

4. Spices

- Experimentation never had any impact on spices, so the UI stubs for these were removed. Adding experimentation systems to crafted items takes time, but we'd like to add one to spicing at some point.

- The effects of spices still need to be balanced to other buff consumables. Also, effects like burst run, etc, can be added, but require more development time.

5. Master

- 25% off faction perks is very very useful to any smuggler in PvP, but we will look into possibly adding nonPvP bonuses to this box.

We're usually a pretty quiet bunch, thank you for hearing us and trying to do something about our situation. Having 4 broken skill trees leaves you feeling half finished, like C3PO in Episode I hehe. We're really glad you responded and we're sorry for screaming at the top of our lungs.

on the underworld branch adding some new skills would be very nice

slicing, could master smuggler have a choice of which to slice???

I don't care for any unarm skills, why use fist when we have pistols??

also I think last ditch is fine as is at moment. panic shot should be fixed asap

add experimentation on spice would be so nice, let us mess around with downtime effect and stats boost

also for master smuggler is it possible to add addition spice schematics(glitterstim such?)

Glad to get these responses from you Raph. We've been waiting forever for a dev to post here.

The only major thing I see missing from that list however, is the ability to choose what you're slicing. I understand that it may make slicing very powerful, but as it is, I sometimes have to purchase 6 of the same gun to get a damage slice instead of speed. The only person benefitting from that is the Weaponsmith.

If Mr. Marine doesn't want to allow all slicers to be able to specify their stat target, can we at least get something in the master box? Everything else is done with crafted tools, how about adding one for selected slicing to make it less desirable if the randomess factor is considered very important. It would cost a lot to use a clamp and a directed slice tool, causing it to not be used all the time, but at least give us the option.

I just want to say thanks to the smuggler community - though the 1010 posting did degrade as the days passed - it only did so because we believed that the sheer numbers of posts would get us some action.

It did - and I thank everyone who contributed.

 

Also - I am a bit disturbed that the countless posts that went on regarding the patch and how it broke panic shot went unknown to the Devs.  I think there needs o be some more pro-activeness on the Dev team regarding the forums.  The players respond immediately adn for the most part accurately as soon as we see something.

 

I do hope that we get a thorough review of our class and a rapid set of fixes.  We deserve to have a functioning profession since we did pay for the software and do pay our subscription fees every month.  We arent asking for anything that isnt guaranteed to us with our said purchases.

 

Thank you Holo for showing up and posting.  I do value your input and welcome your future involvement.  I can only hope that this isnt a flash in the pan - and that you continue to stick with our smuggler profession board and continue to post.  I don't think that is asking too much.  Already today with your 3 posts you have surpassed the number of SOE posts since launch.  I think that needs to be fixed as well.

I have to ask, is Master Smuggler supposed to get 10% slices? Because I get them all too often.

but please what about SMUGGLING, Contraband, NPC Law enforcement, SMUGGLING, the skills need to be used in SMUGGLING, not fighting,
Master PVP bonus what use, unless PVP has something to do with SMUGGLING???

One bit of advice...totally KILL the underworld tree as it is and make the skills actually deal with "smuggling"

Great! I love to hear this being a Smuggler!  1

1) Cannot wait to hear what you Devs come up with.  It will be so much fun to have new, fun, and better skills there.  Too bad it is going to take a wicked long time.

2) Very cool.  Great to hear about the slicing being fixed, and the new terminals sounds awesome.

3) Great.  Love it all.  Also many want to see some Pistol certs, mods, or skills added. 

4) Again, too bad it is going to take forever for you guys to do this.  Experimenting on Spice is one thing that would be really good to have. 

5) Awesome.  I love 25% FP reduction cost totally.  Every Master does.  Most would like to see something really good, or a collect of minor good things to make Master Smuggler worth while, and to ward off dabblers.  Suggestions are more spice schems, pistol cert, pistol mods, pistol skills, unarmed skills, slicing skills.  Things of that nature.

Last ditch should have the the effect time increase by a maybe 3 to 5 seconds( this would allow us to get off two shots while they were down and increase our damage output but at the same time keep it from being a 3 shot kill) or the timer should be decreased to maybe 20 seconds( This would allow us to increase our damage by getting off multiple knockdowns in fight instead of what ends up being one at best).

 This would mean we have a better chance of winning the fight but the other player would still have a good chance of getting off the moves they would need to win the fight. It would end up as beinge a matter of what stuck based on resists.

Panic shot well I will wait and see how the first fix works before making any judgements. But off the top of my head I would say just put it on a seperate timer then low blow.

Underworld I am a little short on ideas at the moment on this one maybe tie it with smuggler missions some how.

Slicing I really like the idea of being able to slice other types of terminals.

Dirty fighting a few unarmed moves added would give players the option of going pistoleer of TKA. I think this is a great idea. combat mods would be great maybe defensive in nature or speed related.

Master smuggler. The abliltity to pick which attribute to slice would be great as well as making sure we have a higher max slice then slicing 4 also I think some kind of weapon cert would be nice.
