Unless your are really really sick and got enough XP and money to pay for the skills so that you could be certified to use that jawa ion rifle, you can rest happy that that in your hands it would have sucked worse then your CDEF .
The all knowing Oracle said all these people trying to log in on me really suxs and took a break to go find Neo to battle the bad programming... ok ok i know it was bad....
say i have to work tomorrow, at 6am EST, should i stay up and wait for it to work, or go to sleep and hope it works at 2pm when i get back??? assume that the subject (me) doesn't worry much about sleep anyway, but likes the occasional nap
All in all, it's not quite as bad as I feared. I did manage to finally get registered, and after a few attempts, managed to get a character built on Lowca. Holocron, stop by and say hi to Belgar Wickerman sometime.
Thanks for hanging tough and working to get the server problems solved.
Holo, I'm just asking out of curiosity. Is this what caused the servers to get stuck loading during beta?
Also, any chance at all the scrolling banner in the General chat room on Launchpad could get changed to a non-scrolling 'Check Announcements for updates' or something like in beta? 800 people chatting + scrolling banners = Launchpad eating all our cpu time.
I tend to think that the community at large is being way too understanding. We all appreciate the Dev's work on fixing the problem but it is still that a problem. You are a company that money (an extraordinary amount) has been given for a product. That product is currently DEFECTIVE. Whether it is 1 day or 10 you (SOE) have been paid for a complete and working product - one which you have failed to deliver. I still very much want to play your game but I think more than apologies and humanised comments are needed to rectify what in my eyes are very serious issues. The statement that these problems occur in all MMORPG's at launch is a copout. That means that you expected these problems to occur but rather than insuring they did not you released the game because the industry standard shows you can - that is a pretty poor business strategy. I truly hope that SOE plans on giving back to their consumers. Just refunding the day is not nearly enough, we, your consumers, have wasted a lot of our own time on a product that SHOULD work and SHOULD BE EXPECTED to work. I am not trying to give you guys grief but I will not lower my expectations of a service I have paid for just because it's the "industry standard".
Now you see why People Soft dont want to merge with Oracel.

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell-PyschoticChipmunk -The First line of the Riflenomican.
To all those who feel that whining & moaning is going to accomplish anything constructive, I really do truly hope that you are not bluffing when you say you are going to return SWG to the store from which it came. It would truly make my day to learn that I won't ever encounter you within the game. For you to think that your ranting posts make the devs any more aware of the current problems than they already are is the ultimate arrogance. Face it: you know your posts are not going to speed this repair process...you simply want to blow off some steam but you flatter yourself that it will accomplish anything useful. Obviously the devs need support right now to deliver on the expectations we all have for this expensive product. The less cynical idiots there are within the gameworld once it gets up & running, the happier I'll be. PLEASE take the game back, PLEASE!!!

After Holo's last post, I went and upgraded my firmware for my Linksys router, and I could get into the login server immediatly, as oppossed to getting errors.
If you need to do this, you can get the firmware from the Linksys website, under support.
