What were your feelings after you played for a hour? I was still trying to break old habits as far as controls and what not but I really liked it. I wanted to play all night. Too bad the server rebooted and I've been locked out ever since due to it being full all the time.

What do you like the most about NGE? Hmm, I'd have to say how you can quest as part as leveling. Mind you, this is a first impression after about an hour or 2 of playing.
What do you dislike about NGE? Shouldn't this be what we dislike MOST? Can of worms. Can of worms. Some parts of the hud are too small. I still found myself looking at the tool bar (is it still called that LOL) when trying to perform specials. The skill sheet is fugly. I can't log in again due to capped servers. I'll reserve further comment until I can get back in and test some more.

Combat is not rpg style, i bought swg to play a star wars game with rppg style combat (now the only star wars rpg is knights of the old republic) Combat is boring, all you do is left click on an enemy and wait for them to die (would like to have a bit more control) Ham bars are too small, and they cant be enlarged. Dont like not being able to walk with my mouse (i use f keys for attacks and right click on mouse for walking in live). Do not like over the shoulder view, i prefer my toon to be centered.
I would also like to add the new star warsy feel and quest system is a great addition to the game, but the combat system didnt need to be changed to achieve that.

1) I felt kind of blown away as the annoncment came out of no where.
2) When I entered the game I felt like I was playing SWG for the 1st time all over again. That is to say "giddy as a school girl".
3) The longer I played, the more I enjoyed it. Sadly though, I was hit by a sting of concisions and felt that I should log to let others on
4) Played a BH, and I have to say that the new changes are pretty nice. Ill have to withhold judgment on the high level skills as I haven't experienced them yet.
5) What do I like most? The quest system is a VERY nice touch. Questing doesn't make it feel like a grind, and the amount of quest XP I've been getting has really been worth it so far. I like the new interface and combat system as well. The new UI gets rid of a lot of the clutter that was in the old ui, and the combat system makes me feel like Im actually doing something. Granted, I couldn't eat my Chalupa while I was fighting like I used to be able to, but its a small price to pay for immersion.
6) My only REAL complaint is with the "Cookiecutter" profs. However, I am going to let this slide as I have a feeling that some system will be implemented in the future to help keep toons distinctive (i.e. WoWs talent system.)
All around, I think that whoever worked on this has done one hell of a job, and with the proper tweaking and additions Im sure this can/will be the premier MMO to play in the near future.

Since I have been around since Beta of launch on different toons, I actually was looking at it with an open mind, not really against it, but more hoping for stuff, if that makes sense.
What were your feelings when you immeadiately entered the game?
I first off liked the voice overs they were cool, but the alarm kind of annoyed me, but the walk/run moving made up for it no more slowness anymore (gratz)!
What were your feelings after you played for a hour?
I lost track when I got on I got lost in the midst of the game an hour turned into 3 lol. I really enjoyed it, took a bit to get use to it and to understand exactly what my quest was for, but after that it was great!
What class did you choose to play?
I knew I should have chosen another profession, but I chose the jedi toon to compare it to live, and I really wish I had not since everyone else was testing that profession !
What do you like the most about NGE?
It is more realistic and more interactive as b4 where I could write a macro or even have a 3 year old play it for me!
What do you dislike about NGE?
The only thing I dislike is not having an ability to have an auto attack to just allow you to use different specials in amongst the auto attack, yet instead having to hold down the left mouse or keeping clickity clicking!
Overall on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest I would have to rate this game as a new game with an open mind and not really comparing it to the old Galaxies I would give it an 8.5 rating.
I really did not have any problems at all except for some laggy spots here and there. So good job guys you did an excellent job on a secret project that I feel will be worth playing!

What were your feelings when you immediately entered the game? - After countless hours to be able to get in TC, I got impressed at first because of "immersion" that we were lacking off, tutorial was better than any other "full expansion"

Because of snappy movement (that my eyes can't hold much due to astigmatic -even I play in 3rd person view, can't stand at all to FP view) and ofcourse and pain in my finger after an hour having to hold and click mouse button. Those were ofcourse physical things. And it is brand new game now having to learn everything. As a art director at my work, you guys really have to work more about profession select / skill screens. They really look amateur with Star Wars big bold font even it is kinda immersive, it looks bad and hard to read.
What class did you choose to play? - As a person having 2 jedi in live, I decided to play Jedi to see and decide about future and also created another character as trader for rest of my 5 accounts.
What do you like the most about NGE? - I can only say, I liked first immersion sequence and "loading videos" beside that, I didn't find it so "impressive".
What do you dislike about NGE? - Where to start? First of all, with this probably I will play less than I used to because of physically unhealthy action. Also disappointed in how main RPG factors got taken away and move this game into action-based MMO. Due to game graphical engine, it was almost impossible to aim good (even you aim at client, it was not hitting creature) due to lag. Game engine does not support smaller clusters or rooms like other action based games. So outside, it is hard for anyone under 1 Gigabytes of RAM and below X800 graphics card.
Movement is "sliding" most of the time and I mentioned snappy movement is "unrealistic" rather than immersive. Beside that, it also makes me sad, we will not call it RPG anymore.
As for Trader, I am disappointed as we can't pick 2 proffessions we would like to like in current and forced to pick only 2 designated. It would be lovely if 2 or more proffessions can be picked.
Having to delete character also to change proffession was really disappointing for all looted items before or Bio-linked.
To sum up, I liked immersion, and dislike all "simplifying" professions and forcing everyone to be clones. In any MMORPG, people are given chance to customise their skill sets and not become clones...
Since all member database will be completely renewed, I guess I would love a chance that you give people to redesign their characters / species / genders without deleting their skillsets/items/badges as in appearance only.

-Hrmmmmm, class selection reminds me of Jedi Academy which made me went bleh. Well atleast when you joined up with Han and Chewie, it had a Star Wars feeling to it.

-It did have a Star Wars type of feel to it.

-The combat has no thinking what so ever. Having to pay for this when it is a console type game that you can pick up off the shelf and not have to pay a monthly fee. The interface was horrid, like it had been thrown together on the fly. I felt like a clone because of the limitation of classes instead of the 30+ I use to be able to choose from.) On the interface, one thing the makes me growl, the "Menu" button. Hated that thing on EQ2, hated it when it was put in EQ, and I still hate it on SWG......
Overall, I felt disgusted when playing. I only see myself playing for MAYBE a month.
(On a side note, why can we not choose if we want to start as a Rebel, Imperial or Netural? Seems kind of odd if I plan to start as an Imperial if I am killing Stormtroopers in the begining.

I was pretty shocked that SOE had kept this redesign of the game a secret, especially in light of the roll out of the expansion.
What were your feelings when you immeadiately entered the game?
Frustration due to getting stuck. I really liked the voice acting and I think all quests should have them. I really liked the cut scenes and I think there should be more cut scenes in the game. I liked being able to point and shoot at a target, but I don't know why I can't shoot my gun even if there is no target. That would be more realistic. Plus, I don't like having to use the keyboard. I use the SWG mode and I can move forward with my mouse using the right mouse button. Finally, the movement and screen are more "jerky" Maybe its lag, but the old setup is more smooth in movement which is important to me because FPSs make me motion sick but SWG does not.
What were your feelings after you played for a hour?
More frustration from bugs and server resets, but I was pleased with the profession quest I started because it was focused on a story around my profession.
What class did you choose to play?
I went with Officer but I want to try Spy as well.
What do you like the most about NGE?
More action, more story content, more loot. I hope SWG will mix the best of SW Battlefront-type action with the best of the SWG style roleplaying.

I'm afraid all characters will be cookie-cutter copies of each other, with only items to separate them -- add to that the weapons will only have two stats and there is very little to make our characters feel individual. The choppiness of the video I do not like. It makes me motion sick slightly.
As a BH and a Jedi, I do not like that Jedi bounties were removed. Avoiding BHs made my Jedi feel "on the run" and exciting. Hunting Jedi with my BH was thrillling. In fact, BH v Jedi -- FROM BOTH SIDES -- was always the most exciting part of the game for me.

My first thought was "Great, another radical change that will mean months of bugs and a even worse environment for crafters and entertainers".
I think it was handled very poorly and announced at a time that so clearly gave the impression that you wanted everyone to buy ToOW and then have half of the people quit. As long as you had the income from ToOW secured.
What were your feelings when you immeadiately entered the game?
After I (finally hehe) got in my first feeling was confusion. Everything was so utterly different than what I had played. And it did looked alot like a FPS to me to begin with, which urked me a bit.
What were your feelings after you played for a hour?
After having examined the various windows and the trader skilltree I realized that the game is not so different for crafters as I had feared.
Some of the graphics are quite shoddy(bad) though and could use a brush up. I here refer to among other things the picture in the skilltree. I looks blurred and out of place. The XP bar which is just plain ugly, and the name boxes in the upper left that don't fit propperly unless my name is "Sam".
The modal less chat is horrid, but thankfully that can be changed to the original SWG chat with a few hotkey modifications.
The general impression was that it had potential to be interesting, but needed quite a bit more than 10 days of testing to be anywhere near finnished.
What class did you choose to play?
I chose the Trader class due to my VERY long affiliation with crafting. However, if there are no lasting differences between the trader and current crafting professions, I will be trying a spy upon my next login.
What do you like the most about NGE?
Like is a strong word, since these changes are so fundamentally different than what I'm used to. It will take some time to adjust completely. However, the pace of the game seemed better.
Also the quest acceptance was nice (Moreso with a few modifications).
Crafting was the same as in live. That's a definate plus. However! See below.
What do you dislike about NGE?
What is the point of having crafting if there is no decay at all? People buy one weapon and use that for 5 years without any need to buy a new one. There is no incentive to craft a wide variety of armor, weapons or clothes (well, maybe clothes with the changing fashions). People will only need one suit/weapon to last a lifetime.
The menu button. I do not want to click some, very out of place, button in order to get a list of the windows I can open. I want to have the list readilly avaliable as it is currenltly in live and be able to access it when I want with just one click.
As I stated above, some of ther graphics implemented are down right ugly. The XP bar is out of place etc. The images of various people from the movie at char creation are poorly made. They look like a bad quality JPG image, if not a GIF...
Also, the reference to a spy at character creation as being someone in ubese armor... Why not use the spy from ANH that led the Stormtroopers to Han's Hanger bay in Mos Wisley, which is the reference you were using in the first place to describe their new role.
I am being penalized for not having the time nor the desire to devote myself to the current FS skills, and thus do not get a second account while others who have had the time and the inclination to do so get a FREE character while I, who has played for more than two years can only get the same ability if I buy another copy of the game and pay 15$ per month for it...
