Respec NPCs are going with pub 28.  This needs MAJOR Clarification

NPCs will be stationed in some cities that allow you to change your profession for a price.  As a gift for publish 28 everyone gets one respec from the NPCs for free.  The NPCs work essentially the same as the respec devices.

Please define "price"

You mean Credits or exp?

An wbout how much of it?

Starts 100k credits and goes up to 25 million i think.

Thanks SpaceRancor! PLEASE tell me this GCW content will be for both PvE and PvP GCW participants...

That is just the High End Content that will be coming out for Publish 29. We want to do alot of different types of content for people to do at the high ends. Some of them would be things like class specific story arc missions, new dungeons similar to the DWB, PvP battlefields, GCW ranks and rewards systems, etc. Basically, we really want to give our high end players a lot of different choices of what they want to do when they log in.

SpaceRancor

Thanks SpaceRancor. Does this mean the new GCW themepark will be for PvPers only? Are CL90 PvErs not considered High End Content?

The GCW to me is setting up conflict between Rebels and Imperials. This doesn't always mean PvP content. Sometimes it will and sometimes it will not. The current plan for the upcoming themepark is to give PvE missions in a PvP environment. For expample, players might be asked to stop the enemy forces from taking a piece of land. When they enter the area where this is going to take place they are flagged PvP. They may or may not ever fight other players but they are put in that situation. But this is one of the aspects of the upcoming GCW themepark, it will have other aspects. Of course, future publishes will focus sololy on the PvE players and some will focus completely on the PvP player.

SpaceRancor

So you are bringing back battlefields?

Yes.  Expect to see something different than what we had before though.

First question to ask "are you satisfied with current state of the game" would do nicely.

Do you think we need a poll on that one? I'll just go out on a limb here and say most people aren't satisfied.

Smed or a csr please answer.

There has been an outcry on the forums for a roll back. As i understand the term Rollback it would mean rerurning to the old system and scrapping everything that happened since the NGE.

Please clearly state weather this is even possible and discribe what the end results would be if it were?

I will jump in and answer this honestly:

We are not doing a roll back. We are not planning a roll back. We are not discussing a roll back. Once again, we are not doing a roll back.I

Can you see the game being bug free? I can't.

I want a rollback mainly to get rid of the bugs, the bugs are the main things killing SWG, not the actual NGE. NGE code on top of the CU and pre-CU has just totally stuffed things up. I can't see the game ever getting fixed, unless there is a rollback, and the CU is worked upon.

Here's a bold goal -

Let's get all the bugs out of the game within 6 months. Maybe we won't hit it, but that's what we're shooting for.

Smed

6 months?????????????????

We want the game bug free NOW!!

Plus I don't hold any confidence, that the bugs won't be stamped out, as I know programming better than you do, maybe a dev should respond to this? Smed give one of your dev puppets the green light to answer!

Also why was the NGE not on TC for ages, why did we only have 2 weeks notice of it??? My time grinding Jedi was a waste of time, on 4 mof my accounts, when one would have done. I could have used the time, playing a CH or Bio-Engneer instead of grinding Jedi, if I knew the NGE was coming.

If there was an announcement in November about the NGE coming in about 6 months time, I would have had all 14 accounts active, making the most of the CU with it, and getting all my Jedi chars through to mastered, enjoyed their skills, enjoyed CH and BE, then would have welcomed the NGE with open arms, which could have been bug free, or not many bugs in game worth worrying about.

But implementing NGE within 2 weeks of announcement has just pissed everyone off!

The only reason you implemented the NGE too soon, was to create huge publicity, through bad publicity, like what Michael Jackson does!

Bottom line is smed, you're a nasty evil scheister!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You're out of time, SOE The whole 2.5 months shouldn't have been. The game was fine up until Nov 15th. If the CU was worked on, instead of devoting time to the NGE (including the many months prior to November), the game could possibly be totally bug free by now.

My account cancels on 2nd Feb, which was a waste as only played game for 1 day to get the life day gifts, will be resubbing when creature handler, Bio-engineer, scout, and ranger return, oh and the FS village.

We're going to put the stuff that's clearly SW in first.  We're going to modify or retrofit the best of what was fun but not completely SW in second.  We're going to remove or eliminate those things that clearly aren't SW.

And, we're going to do it all at a pace that ensures quality and fun.

I understand this may be a tough time/day for you, but if you don't want to "argue" or discuss comments you make here, why even make them?

To me, Entertainer is an absolutely valid SW profession and one that this game sorely needs to have fixed before the final transformation of this once great MMORPG turns completely into the fragfest, no community game it more and more resembles.

I'm here and I'm talking and I'm willing to discuss these issues.  But, I don't think anyone can make the argument that when asked, 'What first comes to mind when you think about Star Wars?' Entertainers come to mind.  That doesn't mean they should be eliminated or marginalized.  People like playing them.  But, they aren't as core to the SW experience as many of the other iconic professions.

We're going to keep supporting Entertainers.  That's why they are on the profession selection screen and that's why we're actively making modifications to them.

So, you are going to force people to PvP in order to participate in the GCW. That still seems wrong to me. While I do PvP, alot of other people do not, and do not wish to be forced into it.

We will get back into the "gank squad" days where a group of people will camp these spots to harass people of the opposing faction when they are trying to complete their quests.

Helios, Spacerancor, any Red Dev, who wants the 12 pack of brew? Don't make me drink it :-)

This type of no hold barred conversation between players and dev's is long overdue, and very welcomed. Thank you for this.

Now, onto my bribery. I will fedex the first dev who will respond to these three questions a 12 pack of heineken, or similar brew. No joke.

1. Mando armor color issues - Droid engineer palette change to match Tailor and Armorsmith - or - Armor recolor tool.

2. House decorating option - Allow us to rotate objects on the x y and (Z) planes. Like all the objects in Nym's GH for example.

3. Imperial Royal Guard Uniform - any chance of this hitting the game? Even if its not armor stat'd (that would be awesome), or a loot drop like the Black Sun Helmet in frequency.

I know there are more pressing issues, and many other questions, I have a full 2 page word doc I add to daily on things I like about the game or dislike.

Remember dev's the brews on me if you chime in. Thanks :-)

What are the chances of you guys putting up polls in each profession forum, assuming it's possible, instead of just on the front page?  Wouldn't this give you a cleaner, quicker path into the heads of your players?
