I'm thinking that if Brawler doesn't do it for me I'm going to either 1) work my way as quickly as I can through Doctor and Combat Medic, or 2) give up all hope and kick myself for wasting so much tiime in vain.
At least I'll know that my last profession is an elite one if Brawler doesn't do it for me, but there are still like a dozen elites to choose from and it's so discouraging to even begin one knowing that the odds are VERY stacked against me that it will be the one needed.

Why have you ruled out doing any of the seven elite artisan professions, we have a guy on Intrepid that quit recently after mastering 12 professions, but not one of the following: Architect, Armorsmith, Chef, Droid Engineer, Merchant, Tailor, Weaponsmith. Architect is the fastest with a partner, Tailor is the easiest to macro, Merchant is the easiest but not the fastest and you need something to sell to get traffic. Droid Engineer and Chef are the most difficult because of gimped xp (for DE) and resources that are hard to get a lot of to macro (for Chef). AS & WS just take a whole lot of some basic resources and some macro action, definitely 15-30 hours of macroing projectile rifle barrels or ubese shirts with 100k stacks of resources.

First of all, people, PLEASE stop trying to pass off theories that you or someone else cooked up as fact. They have not been proven and are not fact. None of us know exactly how to unlock the slot, not even those of you who came up with a theory and have been preaching it as some revolutionary discovery ever since.
Anyway, to the original poster, all I can say is that unfortunately 10 mastered professions is simply not a guaranteed opening of the FSCS. I think one of the slot openers had 16 professions, probably some of them had more. Probably the most credible theories are the many, many random profession ones, but we can say for sure that 9-10 professions doesn't even come close to guaranteeing you a slot.

I appreciate what you say.. and it is true to an extent. But you can never unravel the mystery if you dont propose ways of unlocking it. If no one experimented with medicine we would all die from the flue or small pox or what not. I think you are misisng the intent of his post.... it states " Silent Holocrons, 9 Mastered Professions, Rebel Colonel, etc, etc, but NO JEDI!! please help" He came here asking for help and obviously wanted some input on what to master next. People in this thread have been giving suggestions to what they think might be his next step.
If you dont agree with him coming here and asking.. or you dont agree with him asking and people answering i would click on a different thread. Don't read threads that make you mad.... it only makes your already miserable day worse.
And as well if your not a Jedi, I wonder why you come to this board if not read these "cooked up" theories. This board is for people have unlocked the "Jedi" slot or people trying to find out how to unlock the "Jedi" slot. This board is going to have several theories on it... its also going to have several people posting how they "Unlocked" their slot.. and guess what?? People are going to theorize on what people have done to unlock it.. and are going to cross check their theories with others who have unlocked it and compile the data. This is the only way the slot can be figured out. It can only be figured out when people get enough information from people who have unlocked it, people form theories.. and then try those theories. Think about it... if the only info you had is one person unlocking it and what they had done.. is that as good as knowing what 15 different people did to unlock it? Of course its not. The more I think about it, your post is most confusing. This is confusing to me as well...
"Probably the most credible theories are the many, many random profession ones, but we can say for sure that 9-10 professions doesn't even come close to guaranteeing you a slot."
That is a theory as well.. your saying that its probably the many random profession ones. So you tell people to stop posting theories.. on a board that can only go off theories.. then at the end of your post.. post your own theory. Bleh
I have no problem with theories as long as people realize that they are only that. What I have a problem with is people coming onto threads like these and telling people their theory as if it was an irreputable fact as if a dev had walked up to them on the street one day and told them how to unlock the slot. The vast majority of them are wrong for obvious reasons, and all it does is mislead the poster. It's relatively obvious that the original poster was so surprised about not having the slot already because he thought one of the false theories(probably one of the ones involving 8-9 professions required) to be truth.
Seriously man keep in there, master architect... it will take a day or two at the most. You can even grind out walls, and sell them to other architects if you need the cash. If that doesn't do it, master doc and cm!
My friend, i believe these people are leading you down the wrong track. If your holocron is silent, it probably means you have nothing left to master. so stop wasting your time.
Mastering professions is only part of what you must do to open your FSCS. other things must be done.
you said you visited all the planets, but did you visit every city? many jedi said they did this.
also you did not mention visiting the Jedi theme park on dantooine, wich i personaly feel is a manditory factor for everybody.
if you think about it, the devs would not have made the holos tell us what profession to master if they werent going to tell you all the professions you must master. if your holo is silent, you are most likely done. (the only exception is the case that you started a profession and didnt finish it, and it some how confused the programing involved with the holos)
The devs have said it would be different for everybody, but that would mean there is a pool of factors, and a certain number of those factors are assigned to you.
so try everything you have read that someone else has done. stop wasting your time mastering professions.

THen why has every Jedi after Nov 11th unlocked the slot mastering a profession AFTER their holocron was silent?

I don't have a lot of input about this to form a theory, but from what I heard the 1st person mastered 3 elites based on 3 different starting professions. Your elite masters, while numerous, are based on limited starting professions
WS, Merch, Arch, DE, Tailor, AS - Starting Profession Artisan
Doc - Starting profession Medic
CH - Hybrid starting profession (not sure how that fits)
In addition the 1st jedi slot was opened during combat, not while training a skill. Plus the did a lot of other missions, themes etc. Could it be that you need to master 3-4 elites based on different starting professions plus the other non-skill related stuff to open the slot?

If you Kootsi are the same person I talked to with private messages on the general chat while the servers were down this weekend, then go Sooners. At least your team should chear you up.
Keep pushing forward, and do not give up. Also, get the Act 2 badge.
Bases on what I've seen, and I didn't read every single post on here, but from what I've seen of your professions mastered, I didn't see any crafter type ones mastered other then artisan. Perhaps you need to go after an elite crafting profession?

Kootsi, i will complain for you, no problem. Yeah, you are getting the shaft. It seems you have to master professions in the CORRECT order! Which is totally insane!
The Jedi system is flawed because everyone playing does not have an equal chance of opening the FS slot as the next guy.
Some people have an easier time of it than others.
So yeah, its based on luck. Throw the dice, which was done at character creation for everyone.
This is their way of keeping the Jedi population low.
