Ok here goes, I read once on a thread that to be enlightened with the force you must comple four journies.

Honor, Intellect, Altrusion, and Courage. Now I don't know anything about badges int he game, but let's say that there's a badge for each one you get all those badges and BAM! you become force senstitve. I ahve plenty of theories some make sense otehr do I'll post them sometime. Fleecy (Lowca)

I have no idea. I don't know how to get them, where to view them, or what they're good for.

You can veiw your badges in the "control + p" window, they are just a symbol of accomplishments in the game, and according to the holocron in game (read that **edit** thing all the way through and still found no mention of jedi or fs) they are unlocked over time by accomplishing varying tasks.

Honor, Intellect, Altrusion, and Courage.

So my main character must be honorable, intelligent, altruistic and brave. Then, I get to create another character that is force sensitive? It seems to me that only the FS character needs these virtues to become Jedi.

To open the FS slot, I should not have to be Jedi material since that character does not become force sensitive. Not to mention many cooks are going to have trouble with the Courage task. I guess, they could eat 100 pufferfish and hope they dont die.

i continue to state that since the FS slot is for a new and different character, the main character does not need to be Jedi material.

But who controls both characters? The same person? Yes that seems right. SO why shouldn't the player have to exhibit these qualities as well? Maybe!

The actual player must be follow the code of the Jedi for a character who must follow the code of the Jedi for the FS slot to be unlocked. Cool.

This game has been designed to be a perfect playground for roleplay, the devs have stated this many times, why would they then go and make this part of the game only work for people who roleplay in ONE way?

Simple answer, they wouldn't and they didn't.

Now I may role play one character I have as a bloodthirsty villian, a true child of the Empire.  Despising the Rebels, filled with hatred of them and hunting them down and exterminating every last one of them.

However I may roleplay my character on another server as a independent businessman, looking after his home, tending his arrangement of potted plants, pillar of the local community, not an evil or spiteful bone in his chubby body.

I can roleplay anyway I choose, it's the beauty of it all.  I can be in-game who I'm not, or who I am, or who I want to be, or who I'd never ever want to be, in RL.

It's what you do, mechanics like, that affect unlocking FS, not how you do it, being an evil imperial or a happy loving gardener.

Play the way YOU WANT to play, not the way you THINK you need to play.

Villians too have honor, intellect, Altrusion, and courage do they not? This makes this goal obtainable to anyway you play your game. Unless your an idiotic coward but who would play like that?

I'm not really clear on how a villain can be altruistic.

Only a villain would claim Robin Hood was a villain, so we'll sidestep that now.

Villians have buddies you know that they can watch out for.
