I'm a 4-4-4-4 reb pilot, so im forced to pvp outside DS for now.
However, I have had a hard time finding overts as well.  And the few I did, did not notice me till was too late.  One time, there was 2 of em.  on imp and one imp aligned nutral.  killed the nutral, and when i turned for the imp, he was still farming the npcs.  3 shots from my A-wig useing anihilator MK 1 wep on his oppressor......well you can guess the rest.  I don't know why i never looked in kessel, but now i know you hunt there, perhapes we will run ito each other.  I just hope I see you first.

1 question. Is the A-wing superior to the grevious starship?  I find it moves real good and has a second wepon port that the A-wing does not.

The A-Wing has a smaller hit profile than the Grievous, but the JSF has a much smaller hit surface than either, and a**hat pilots like me have taken it one step further by camoflauging our fighters to blend in with dark backgrounds.

The JSF, Bel-22, and Heavies have double the Yaw-Pitch-Roll accelerations than the TIE Advanced and A-Wing, but that doesn't mean they turn twice as tight or twice as fast, they merely hit their maximum turning envelope speed quicker.

There's a definite "snap-to" feel in a JSF/Bel/Heavy that's lacking on an Adv/Int/A-Wing, but given equal experience, an A-Wing/JSF fight should be about a 55/45 split merely because the JSF pilot has a second gun slot and/or enough mass for a missile launcher working for him.

/anon removes you the /who list. If you're not anonymous in DS, you have a nice, big, "COME AND KILL ME" sign on you, since you're telling someone you're there before they've even found or thought to look for you.

Some people may WANT this, but others may not.

It works on ground OR in space, only on the ground, /who can also be used to find overts of an opposite faction who aren't marked as /anon.

This used to be (and to some extent still is) a good way of knowing when, from where, and if a raid was coming.

Also, you "flair" people have NO idea how far away your flashy weapons can be seen. This can be as much of, if not MORE THAN, a "come kill me" sign than /who in Deep Space, because you don't even need to check /who to see there's a player target, albeit friend or foe in the system.

The REALLY prominent blasters can be seen about 3.5k away, well beyond normal targetting range.

The fireball/lightning/disc effect might be pretty, but it will probably get your ass killed in DS. If you're TRULY serious about PvP, stick to the standard colors when you RE - Sienar and Cygnus for Imperials, Incom and one other for Rebels for the red bolts. Ironically, the other side tends to loot the other's weapons - which makes sense, but kind of sucks, all things considered.

Using a flashy blaster is like walking around Afghanistan in a John Deere cap - you're gonna stand out, and that's one thing you DON'T want to do in DS unless you're looking for trouble.

About the only other exception might be an L7 REed with the Kashyyykian Rendili FG1A - pure blue bolt, looks very reminiscent of a B-Wing NPC ion blast.

I might be visible because my twin .371s firing at a stagger pace looks like the tracer rounds from Satan's M60, but both are green. Prior to being able to fit two, I used to call the single L8 Borstel-based greenie on my Advanced the "I Can't Believe It's Not Crafted" blaster.

Which leads us to another important lesson - the more you can get your potential opponent to underestimate you, the better. Also, never killtell unless it's to advise someone on what you think they did wrong or thank them for a good fight.

About the only KT I've ever been guilty of is playfully chiding the one of the two people who've popped me without giving me the ability to repay the favor.
