1) No target lock is planned or being discussed.
2) There will be additional skills for each profession, but not like the system before. I realize this is contriversial but there it is.

Smed,

I understand the changes your company brought about with the NGE were needed in some way to help keep this game going. I can respect that, however, pushing something live that is still not completed/playable is totally uncalled for. You guys are still working on fixing things the NGE has broken to the point that people no longer want to play. I am very worried about the current state of the game, as are many of your other CUSTOMERS, who want nothing more than a enjoyable game to play.

It is totally uncalled for, to make people wait a year (according to the past track of the publishes) for their profession to be playable, not to mention you took out creature handler and many other professions and you guys have no idea how you are going to fix that area.

My question is, WHY should we continue to play this game when the publishes that fix our professions are so far off in the future, that we don't even know if this game will still be around. I am trying to hold on with my remaining accounts, but need a reason to stay Smed, please give me and many others a reason to stay.

Whether anyone likes it or not, this private forum does belong to SOE. They set the rules and decide what is acceptable and what is not.

This thread, just like the others that have been locked on this same subject, is trolling and off-topic. What was posted on a WoW forum has nothing to do with SWG gameplay.

You would probably have better luck keeping this thread alive if it were started in the General Any Topic forum.

But jedi will stay as iconic profession? i just think it's so wrong to see a level 30 jedi asking how to put a crystal in his lightsaber... Jedi is just to special to be an iconic profession...

I have a question....

Do you have any plans to turn maintance back on to get rid of all the abandoned structures from players who quit long ago.

we've had a plan to completely get rid of most of the structures in the game from players that aren't around any more. It's in limbo because it's time-consuming and needs to be done just right (imagine the riots if we deleted active players's structures by accident). The team just has other stuff they are concentrating on atm.

Smed

How come Origin, who made Ultima Online, could construct a system to get rid of dead accounts back in 1995, but SOE can't construct a system to get rid of dead accounts in 2006?  Are their programmers more talented?  Did the technology in coding get worse over the years?  Origin's policy, the best one to date was to wipe accounts that were inactive for 3 months.  This rewarded the accounts that were active and paying for the game.

You guys are hurting the PLAYING and PAYING customers.  Dead cities litter the landscape, planets are city capped, everyone who is active and paying for the game have to make cities on Lok and Rori, pretty much the only planets without city caps but don't worry!  They will be capped soon too!  New players log into the game and see hundreds of inactive cities.  Do you want them to see how many people left the game?  That's exactly what you're doing.

Please turn on maintenance.  Please get rid of structures pulling money from your bank account.  Please wipe accounts that have stopped paying for 6 months.  Please reward your loyal customers that are active, paying and playing the game.  Please?

Why did I respond on FOH and not here? I just happened to see that thread last night... simple as that. At some point I can only deny nonsensical rumors on so many websites before it just plain becomes frustrating to me. It's the old "when did you stop kicking your puppy" trap..

I've also asked the Lucasarts folks to comment on this which you should see today some time (not sure when or where exactly).

I also want to say - I'm happy to discuss things that need to be done to make SWG better. What I will not do is respond to "go back to pre-NGE" threads or "please make 1 pre-nge server" threads. I've commented on those before.

So Smed, hows the 6 mounth plan comming, you know the one you told us about when you realesed the NGE on us and said 'give us 6 mounths to get it all nice and purty' well hows that going?

I think it's going as well as it can. The team is working on the next publish and I think it's fair to say with every new publish the game will be better. There are only so many hours in the day that the team can work and they've got it in overdrive making this game better.

Smed

Right, but why should we have to wait for ever to fix a game you utterly destroyed in 15 days.

For high end content could we get a return PRECU system of dungeons like used to occur... way back before the CU almost every publish featured a high end dungeon that gave players something to do such as the Corvette, Warren, Death Watch Bunker and Geo Bunker, then once JTL hit all the high end content focused on expansions, dont get me wrong I dont mind paying for some content but there seems to be very little free content added since JTL hit

does this mean Jason Minor is a liar?

First I've seen of that.. but the truth is we were in the beginning stages of a new expansion.. we did the focus groups.. you guys clearly said "fix the game before you talk to us about an expansion" we listened and pulled everyone off that expansion. Is that direct enough?

The truth is the community morale won't improve until the game does. Communication can't fix this. Improvements to the game can. The fact is our communication has improved.. people don't neccessarily like the message is all. I get that. So do our community folks. My preference is that all the posts in the gameplay forum are discussing gameplay balance.. and in-game issues.. but they won't until we get the game to a baseline fun level. We're not there yet. We know that. We're working to fix it. There is no other answer.

Smed

Wow. An offical representative saying the game is hurting. This does give me hope. Not much. But some. We have seen in the past that what is said may not come to pass. Be aware Smed, the community will hold you to the above statement.

Smed,

Please post your top 5 concerns from the player base.

Thunderhart has posted his, we would like to see if you understand what the main problems are in this game.

ok. Here are my top 5. Keep in mind, this doesn't mean this is the order things are being done.. just my personal ones and what I see being big issues with the community.

1. Crafting - I know crafters are pissed.. we're working on a system that I hope will be a good balance between the crafting centric system we had before and the loot drop system we have now. The truth is this needs to be balanced.

2. New quests for the mid-levels - there's not enough of them now. The team is cranking on it.

3. PvP - Not nearly enough of it - I don't like what we've done to faction bases. Personally I think this is a big part of what this game needs to be about. Then again, I'm personally a PvPer so that's a big deal to me.

4. Entertainers - I realize a lot of people don't like the idea of entertainers being in combat. To a lot of people this IS why they went into entertaining in the first place. I like where we're going with it and want to make sure it's balanced properly.

5. Higher end content - There's a lack of really interesting high-end content in the game. A lot of the vets have maxed out and we need to make sure there's still enough to do.

Smed

Nice to see your Top 5!  I'm one of those "pissed off" Crafters!  When will you guys actually give something to the Crafting Community??  The promise of some little Ground RE isn't enough!  Every change you've done to the game and continue to make leads us to believe you want us out of the game... prove us wrong... show us the Big Picture you have in mind for Crafters!

I'm also an Entertainer that wants useful Buffs and Skills given to us so that players will actually seek us out!

I'm also a CL 90 Vet with nothing to do!  Will there be any new content we don't have to buy an expansion for??
