Smed there is nothing for vets in SWG anymore - You and your development team have proven that you are uncapable of making SWG better. Please give it to a company that doesn't work in slow motion, then maybe you won't be hated by so many

Who is giving you the reports about how is community going ? cause it's really lying to you.

The truth is the community morale won't improve until the game does. Communication can't fix this. Improvements to the game can. The fact is our communication has improved.. people don't neccessarily like the message is all. I get that. So do our community folks. My preference is that all the posts in the gameplay forum are discussing gameplay balance.. and in-game issues.. but they won't until we get the game to a baseline fun level. We're not there yet. We know that. We're working to fix it. There is no other answer.

Oh yeah and here is the list of things which ruin this gvame and have forced me to cancel my subscriptions:

# Officer group buff not buffing group members.
# DECAY  - Bring it back but with a 100% chance of repairing quest weapons and armour - Including Mando armour.
# Radar needs to be re-sizable.
# Specials don't work with looted weapons.
# Journal entries needed for the Warren, Geo Caves and Death Watch Bunker - Also proper xp rewards - In fact, proper Journal updates for ALL classic quests.
# NPC's are stuck outside Theed Starport in the Factional Flags.
# Group sizes are too small (Increase to at least 10).
# Increase XP and creature resources from spawns - In fact bring back old grinding, questing should be optional, not part of the grind.
# Cannot sit on chairs inside starports.
# Entertainer buff is not worth it, therefore you never have a need to visit an entertainer. Maybe increase it to 50% xp and faction bounus.
# CL90 content needed - More dungeons like the DWB and Geo Caves.
# More GCW content needed.
# Weaponsmiths are currently useless as you can loot better weapons than they can craft.
# Combat Droids - Level needs to be raised to be of any use. (It is currently level 30)
# Fix the PvP rating system - Currently PvP rating means nothing as it can be farmed to easily.
# Make stats like strength, precision, agility and luck have a higher potency - It's hard to notice any effects even with a full set of mods.
#  Are the stats on the Aurilian Fruit ever going to convert over to be used in NGE?  It was a cool idea to grow
my own fruit but the fruit has been useless.
# NPC Mobs still warp to your position during combat.
# The mind bar has no use.
# Med centers + Hospitals have no use.

You can call me out all you want on this. If you want to see for yourself, how about reading this forum more often than the penny arcade and others. Rather I put this challenge to you. Creat a simple poll, much like the one that asked what food we liked best? Did you happen to see that silly poll? Anyhow, have the poll ask if we feel there has been an increase in communication since 2005? a simple Yes or No. Post this poll and if I am wrong I will send you and your staff all the Krispy Kremes you can eat.

Serisouly, you chose the wrong post in this thread to challenge, the lack of communication is a very hot topic. It is like this because people like Rogue_5 and Thunderheart promissed increased communication. What did we get? one week of it and guess what, that week there were very few flame fest or people just complaining to complain. Communication sir is your answer to your HUGE public relations problem

Hey Smed,

What about heals and specials not firing or working properly correctly? Is this being addressed? Example: You are fighting away, you hit a special 4 or 5 times before it works? I can say they work on average 60-70% of the time.

Do you have any plans to turn maintance back on to get rid of all the abandoned structures from players who quit long ago.




we've had a plan to completely get rid of most of the structures in the game from players that aren't around any more. It's in limbo because it's time-consuming and needs to be done just right (imagine the riots if we deleted active players's structures by accident). The team just has other stuff they are concentrating on atm.

Smed, I hope you understand that the springing of NGE on us [the community] left alot of distrust among the population. This is the first major issue, that need to be address, once trust is reestablished between us and you, i feel that most of this rumor mill will stop. These rumors and locking of threads did not exist before the first CU, and it died down. That springing of the NGE was the worst thing you did, even though you thought the NGE is good, which some aspects I like very much. you should have gave us time before launching this just like the first CU.

I been playing since day 14, and this community is torn apart, and is totally your fault. Dude, you should have tested longer and not push this out because of christmas sales.

You need to fix the trust issue, and staying on course (political pun) is not the right thing to do.

All I wanna know is:

What games do you play?

If you had the option of playing a "themepark" game or a "free world" game, wich would you choose? And why are you or are you not taking the game in that direction?

What happened to being "innovative"? All I see comming for this game, is a motion towards "old and used". Other, new games comming, all seem to incorporate features of the old SWG, like skill based, lots of crafting(not Re-engineering), social/non combat gameplay. What happened? Where is the "smartness"?

Now, you might not play SWG, but for 3 years now, we've had a quest/mission "engine" thats more low tech than Ultima Online's, and even more buggier. When will you see that making missions/quests dynamic instead of static will bring a boost to a quest driven game?

 

and if you wonder what I mean by dynamic, give me a call, I'm only half a world away, in Norway, a place SOE couldnt get me from when I was invited to Austin to see the NGE.

thats the problem with the team... they are concerned about what they want and not what the community wants... as we all always say, devs do what they please to do.. sometimes they give us the satisfaction of adding some petition to the game just so we can say that u are doing a great job... im not blaming u for this... thats how business works isnt it?
