Hey devs!  You should /sticky this thread - great help, even to experts (Just little hints that help)

Here are a few more hints:

Marksman: Most people don't seem to realize how useful Body Shot, Leg Shot and Head Shot are.  Think about it - when you fire your weapon, you do damage to 1 of 3 pools.  You could get the enemy down to 1 Health, 1 Action, and 1 Mind, taking you forever, before you kill it.  Instead, queueueueueue (I dunno how to spell it!) a few Body/Leg/Head shots (only 1 type) and take down that single pool.  Even better, have your entire party concentrate on a certain part (Body is probably best, because that's the most likely to be hit with a normal shot just in case someone forgets to use Body Shot or doesn't have it).

Artisan: Get extractors and put them in high density areas.  A few guidelines:

1) The extractor needs to be at least 500m away from any city.

2) You need power! (Wind works very well - even with only about a 35% concentration you'll have plenty more than enough for 2 extractors).

3) Extractors cost 720cr a day for maintanence, Wind Generators cost 1440cr a day (It really isn't that much - 1 mission per extractor, 1 mission per Wind Generator, and you'll probably have enough).

4) Turning off a generator/extractor does not seem to stop the drain on the Maintenance pool - it only stops the drain on the power pool.  Make sure you keep the Maintenance up!

5) In order to reclaim a generator/extractor (Move it instead of just destroying it), you'll need a certain amount of extra credits inside the maintanence pool in order to reclaim it - make sure you be careful when you are doing this (I accidentally lost an Extractor that was only 100cr under the amount needed to reclaim)

6) Build Extractors in areas with concentrations above 85% - you'll get a few thousand of the resource per day.

7) Some of the more important resources are: Steel, Aluminum, and Fiberplast.

Scouts:  Be kind to your local Artisan and sell him Bones and Hides!  The current going price (On Gorath, at least) is 10cr per Bone or Hide.  Think about it - you do a mission for 1000cr, and harvest about 15 corpses.  You get about 75 hides or bones - that's a total of 1750cr!  Enough to buy a bit of Armor, or to tip your local Medic or Entertainer.

To have fun:  Strip yourself naked and type /dance, /kiss, /(insert some action that would be funny if a naked person were doing it)

It was stated in the man. but its amazing how many people dont know this.

If your group gets seperated or needs to meet somewhere, create a waypoint, stick it as an email attachment, and email it to "Group"

Addressing your email to Group will send it to everyone in your group.

I know alot more but im very tired and will post tomorrow.

Click and drag faster. Pausing even for a second will bring up the radial menu. It takes practice, but you'll get it.

On that note, I don't think I've seen an option to change the radial menu delay... T'would be nice if we had one.

I had the same problem for a while. Try this:

Click one time quickly to select the item. Then click-N'-drag the item. This was particularly helpful for me, once I got the hang of it.

Okay, I have a few hints.  I appologize if any of these are restatements of ones already posted:

1).  Did you know you can resize your radar and zoom/unzoom in alt mode?  Helpful for avoiding agros on a long run.

2).  When you slay an enemy, instead of pulling your mouse and getting the radial, or creating a macro that takes toolbar space, you can just press ` (the one under ESC) and then 1 to loot all.

3).  If you run out of stim packs in the middle of nowhere, don't forget you can /tenddamage.  It hurts your mind, but can save your life at times.  Also, heals seem to be queue sensitive, so if you have your queue filled with attack commands and then try to do a heal at a crtical moment, you may be in for a nasty surprise.

4).  If you stim someone who is incapacitated due to Health or Action, they will usually revitalize instantly.

5).  When attacking lairs.  I usually queue 2 overcharge shots and then peace immediately.  you'll get one or two enemies agroed on you.  Hit esc to remove the lair target (lest you hit it again and draw more agros out).  Kill off the newcomers, rinse and repeat until no more come out (usually only takes 2-3 attacks on lair to bring out all its inhabitants), then destroy the lair completely.

6).  Even if you're not a medic, it is worth it to get basic medic skill, only takes a few skill points, and you can untrain it if you need them back.  Being able to use stimpacks and heal wound packs in camps REALLY helps maximize playing time.  Plus, if you can make stimpack-A's fairly easily.

Oh!  One more.  Did you know:

You can alter chat tabs so you can get other messages.  For example, when in group chat tab, you don't (by default) get direct tells.  I've gotten angry friends demanding why i didn't answer, all because i didn't see it while in a group.  You can also get combat msgs in spatial if you want or anything anywhere!  Right click (I think) on the tab name, and bring up the properties and add whatever messages you like to whatever tabs...

Is there any way to get to the Character/Galaxy select screen without quitting the whole game and then starting it back up?

I actually have a question, not a tip:

How does /aim work? If I hit /aim the /headshot will my headshot go off at an improved chance? Or does /aim include firing? If I just hit /aim and wait, eventually I fire but I can't decide if the shot is part of /aim or if its just the normal shot. Does that makes sense?

Also, how does Cover Shot work? What does it do?

Thanks for all the great tips in this thread!
