Jedi Archives Volume 1
The archives are comprehensive and totally secure, my young Jedi. One thing you may be absolutely sure of - if an item does not appear in our records, it does not exist!
With all the changes going into Jedi revamp, there are many Jedi and even more aspiring Jedi who have some important questions they would like answered. As we reveal more and more of the new Jedi System, we will be opening up the Jedi Archives…
Should Jedi continue to level, or should they put their Jedi on hold if progress is being wiped?
This idea of whether or not to continue mastering professions in the pursuit of Jedi or Jedi working on acquiring more skill boxes is definitely a personal choice, but progress in both cases is not being “wiped”. It is being accounted for are rewarded. Players who are Jedi now will not be wiped and players who are working at becoming Jedi will not be wiped.
For those who are not yet Jedi and wish to hold their progress, they will enter the Jedi Quest system in Publish 10 and for those that start the Jedi path will given credit for all professions mastered up to that point. For those that wish to continue their progress, whatever effort was put into the previous Jedi Path (IE. Mastering Professions) will translate to the new system. The amount of completed professions will be measured and players will get an amount of credit in the new system based on how many professions they completed.
Will the new FS unlocking system be very difficult and time consuming, on par with the time it takes to master 15-30 professions like people have had to do now.
It is the proverbial “comparing apples and oranges”. Time, effort and challenge will definitely be part of the quest system, but it is essentially a different type of content. One is mastering professions and the other is completing quests and they just don’t compare to each other in like terms. “Time” will be a major factor in the new system though. It will take more time to become a Jedi in the new system than it did in the old Jedi path.
Will skill loss be changing, especially in regards to Knight and beyond since Jedi will have to PvP to advance? This is also going to be important as the current bounty hunter missions based on Jedi visibility will be a legacy issue. Visibility does not have much place in the new system that I can tell.
As it is currently designed, there will be experience loss for death and potentially skill loss. The developers may end up implementing an experience deficit system instead of skill loss for the PvE portions of Jedi gameplay. PvP Jedi gameplay will be much more competitive and as such, death will cause a loss in rank. The “rank” has to do with specific PvP Jedi gameplay though and is separate from any PvE status.
Will there be translation of advancement to the new system that corresponds with current progress, or will it be based more on more generic “large block” achievements i.e: Current Jedi will start in the new system as Force sensitive, Current Jedi Guardians will start in the new system as Jedi Knights, Or current experience gained will be translated ratio wise into the new system.
The translation of advancement into the new system will correspond with a player’s current progress.
Just to double check, you will still have to complete the FS quests to unlock the second slot, all players will not have a second character by default?
Yes, players will have to complete the Force Sensitive Quests to unlock the extra slot.
While that is fine, will you please tell us, does everyone get a second slot?
Yes, anyone who puts in the effort gets the second slot as long as they complete the Force Sensitive quests.
Under the new system will we be less than an hour away from Jedi Master. If it is not AP points, then we want to know if it is something similar and the same no risk one hour or so leveling time to accomplish Master.
We consider “Guardian-4-4-4-4 Jedi” to essentially be Master Jedi. They will be considered to have completed their advancement and will be allowed to advance to maximum amount of the Jedi skill boxes.
With the new system will we be forced to PvP to hang on to our titles or level? If we do not PvP will we lose skill points, boxes or ranking?
If players choose not to engage in PvP, they can still retain their titles and level. After that is where the translation from system to system really changes. The Jedi PvP is basically a whole new level of play above and beyond what has been put into the game to date. Basically there are portions of the Jedi system which do not require PvP to advance or maintain and there are portions which do. How far up you advance and how much effort you put into maintaining your advancement is completely up to you.
