I kept getting questions like "can you make xxx with yyy mass and zzz some other stat" or "what is the biggest reactor you can make", so I finally decided to find out what the theoretical maximums of the different shipwright items are.

All values are in the format ( stat at 0% experimentation / stat at 100% experimentation / increase per % ) and should be accurate to a few percent due to rounding errors.

If I get some more time I'll add some color, might make it easier to read

Hmm ... the Armors were one of the first things I did ... wasn't aware they'd been patched. I'll check them again.
@Beldaran:
Actually, I can't stand the inaccuracy either, but the only exact data I got was when I got a crit fail (dropping the experimentation value down to 0 and making it easy).
All the other numbers were got by assembling, noting the value, experimenting up to a higher value, taking the difference and dividing by the percentage difference.
So no guesswork involved, if that was somewhat unclear.

Superb work.  As a possible reference for non-SWs, could you also include the certification level of the various parts?  I think the "Mark I to V" items are generally 2*Mark -1 (so Mark I is lvl 1 cert, Mark V is lvl 9 cert, right?)  But some components like countermeasures and missle launchers don't fit that pattern.

Experimentation on almost all items works like this:

ActualStat = MinStat + ExperimentalPercentage* (MaxStat - MinStat)  / 100

MinStat is the value at 0% experimentation, MaxStat is the value at 100% experimentation.  The increase of the stat with experimentation is a linear progression. (MaxStat - MinStat) / 100 is the "Increase per %" Mailo listed.

If you determine two data points (Percent1, Stat1), (Percent2, Stat2) you can calculate the slope of the line, rearrange the above equation for one datapoint to solve for MinStat, then plug in 100% to get MaxStat:

IncreasePer% = (Stat2 - Stat1) / (Percent2 - Percent1)
MinStat = Stat1- IncreasePer% * Percent1
MaxStat = IncreasePer% *100 + MinStat

Due to some rounding issues on the stats, there is a margin of error with this method.  If you wanted perfectly accurate numbers for MinStat and MaxStat, you'd have to actually hit 0% (generally with a crit fail) and 100% (requiring 1000 stat resources).

I added the cert levels on all items (except the optional upgrades, wouldn't make sense there).
Also, I corrected the data on Armor Mark IV and V, thanks for the spot, I indeed had old data.
I'll post a link in the Pilot profession forum to this one, no need to have it twice. But I guess I would have to add some more infos, not every pilot knows enough about the shipwright profession to immediately understand this numbercrunching.
 
I'm still working on creating an OpenOffice spreadsheet of the data, but don't have any place to put it online. Maybe someone here has some space left on a website?
