Those are certainly the five things I'd list as most important for my city. I could be a very happy camper if we could somehow get all of those things!
As far as the Politician Skill Point cost, a reduction or restructure would be the best thing as a class. While I'd love to see them pack so much into the Politician class to make the current skill point cost worth every bit invested, I think it's much more realistic to go for a condensed version with some added perks.

from our top 5 poll, here are the top 5 issues:
politician skill point cost
master politician benefits
city management tools: city ledger, ability to see structure owner, etc.
more revenue sources: trainer/mission terminal profit
better city defenses
issues such as fixing sales tax, "mayor of" title, shipwright trainers, increase decoration limit, etc., are included in a different document.
do these look ok?
I dunno, what does that etcettera represent? You're not trying to bring about big brother cities of fear and contempt that cause massive rifts in the very fabric of this game never to be mended. Calling forth hellfire and brimstone to the very core of the server's existence and meaning in a self aggrandizing battle against the development team are you?
If no then the list looks great, if yes...go get 'em papps.

Increase Decorations Limit or some specific new cool Structures we can ad to our cities , to show our comitment to getting master politician.
city management tools: city ledger, ability to see structure owner, etc.
Also to add city Message of the Day or Welcome Message, also be able to locate the citizen structures by clicking on their names under the citizen report section. Allow for a notice board kind of terminalo where Citizens or prospective citizens can read about the city and the services it offers before they decide if they want to move in or not.
more revenue sources: trainer/mission terminal profit
Extremely nesscary alot of Politican are usinjg there own money to fun dhte city maintainene every week and Citizens are not really inform about he costs of running a city(this needs to be addressed)
better city defenses
Indeed we do , but i can't epect this coming in before the GCW Upgrade , factional npcs are too weak at the moment and wouldnt offer much protection against intruders.

Excuse my ignorance but I have been around these forums for quite a few months now and always wondered whether these top 5 wishes, which I am happy to sign and willing to see in game, are really being taken into consideration by the developers. Are they?
What kind of influence do you have on them? Do you just "pass the information" and they say "ok, we'll take care of it some day..."? Are they located at some position in some big TO-DO list or not even that?
P.S. Not trying to be rude, just asking. :-)

this is a good question, as some other folks have unrealistic expectation of correspondents...
we're pretty much just volunteers collecting data and mediating between players and devs. we present them with info, it's up to the devs what to do with them. usually we have little say (besides forum opinions) on what happens. once the top 5 are posted on the corr forum, they're out of my hands.

Looks good to me. I am a newer mayor and new to these forums and already I can see exactly what all the concerns i have heard whispered really are. I cant pull our clone center because there is items stuck in the wall. basic things that this top five would go along way to help us do our jobs better. So /cheer and hope the devs respect the time everyone took to get the list together and take it seriously enough to do something.

Love the idea about the notice board, would save creating a information vendor etc.. Regarding the citizens report, not sure if I understood, but i recon this would have to be callable at any time, anywhere in town.. so you could stand outside a house, bring up the report and check to see who the owner is.. class idea.

Yup, income from mission terminals would be advantageous and encouraged for active perusal

These 5 issues look ok to me, but I am suprised the decoration limit did not make the top 5. Having a well decorated city, or visible city at night, is pretty important.
Where can I find the document that talks about the other issues that did not make the top 5?
Currently my biggest issue is the limit of decorations I can place. Do the developers know how dark the SWG Cities are at night? Sure would be nice if each building had an entryway light . I keep running into the darn walls trying to find the door or ramp up to the door during night time hours *chuckles*. Buildings with no lights, Speeders with no head lights, not enough street lights can be place, I tell ya our mortality rate from speeder recks and the pedestrian fatality rate jumps WAY up at night !
Ya need to be a Darn Jedi just so you can use your light saber to see where the heck you are going at night in these cities!
I have been a mayor for all of one month, and my biggest problem talked about here is the city decorations limit. I must have missed the top 5 vote thread. Give every building a light, up the decoration limit, or remove the streetlamps from the decoration limit... as many have talked about in the Top 5 Poll thread.
Sure new admin tools would be nice, Making a master politician really special would be nice, but being able to see your city at night would be really awesome ! Not to mention hiring someone to keep the darned weeds down.
These are some good issues, but I would like to see the decoration problem up in the top 5.

As we are a neutral city defenses aren't a topic ... and I really don't know what the devs should do for this point as walls are out of the question and since faction related issues should be part of a seperate GCW listing.

city defenses aren't just for the GCW folks, I was more concerned with the little protection /cityban provide to a city

I agree, I'm wondering however about the city defenses-in what way are cities currently attacked so they need defense? Noobulous mayor r us asking
Definitely I'd like to see detailed readouts on city finances, housing and who owns them. The ability to move a house someone puts in the middle of the street! The ability to move forward/back etc city decorations. Readout of how many items in the city hall!
Mayoral ability to have more trainers, npcs(especially quest givers), load up the master Politician skill with abilities such as star port placement for city over a certain rank. This would make it so much easier for people to travel to our cities for city services, trainers and merchants. Make it so you at master can have as many city specializations as youre willing to pay for, same with trainers and city decorations.

I was wondering, would saying customizable missions that mayors can create be under city management? This would greatly give more reasons and create new contents for mayors that have such an ability... to at least create some missions with a reward at the end..
For example, one is an actual event where the mayor runs it and say gets attacked by an imperial or rebel npcs... so and so players come, whoever eliminates the most enemy will recieve so and so award.. or something to that extent.
Politician made conents is greatly needed to keep the city thriving and make it so it's alive.

I like to add a private city channel. We have had a few incidents of BH joining our city channel and harassing jedis. I can report this but this doesn't prevent BHs from listening in to see what their target is saying or giving away their location or stategy. This isn't only done by BH either. We had an incident in which someone join the city channel and began to berate everyone. City channels should be made available only to the residents and the moderator to add individuals to the channel should be left to the mayor and militia.
