SWG Painting Guide v.3
Overview

Welcome to the third version of the SWG Painting Guide. Here you can find out about each and every painting that exists in the game, including how to acquire them and any other relevant information about them.

This guide is broken down into three categories, each in its own post:

Primary Painting List: This is the main list and contains all the paintings available in the game, either as loot, quest rewards, or other anniversary/veteran rewards.

Bestine Museum Paintings: This post breaks down all the paintings available from the curator of the Bestine Museum, the locations of the NPCs involved in the quest, as well as which paintings have been available on every server.

Galactic Gallery Listings: Here you can find out about the various player-run galleries in the game, including waypoints and the server they're on. The images in this guide never do as much justice to the art as seeing the piece in person, so I urge everyone to visit their closest gallery at least once.

Credits
This guide was first created by Ackis in February of 2004, and was later continued by vvvedge in September of 2004. If you'd like to view those guides, v.1 is located here and v.2 is located here. As a contributor to both previous guides, and being an art collector since the game launched, I took it upon myself to continue their work.

SWG Painting Guide v.3
Bestine Museum Paintings

The Bestine Museum Paintings are provided in the form of schematics, which can be bought from Lilas Dinhint (Bestine Museum Curator) for 48,000 credits. You can buy as many schematics as you want, and each has two uses. One can also make a factory run from a schematic use, if they wish to.

The painting offered by the curator rotates approximately every 30 days based on a mini-quest he gives out. The quest involves visiting three different artists (which also change each round), talking to them about their art, and then returning to the curator and telling him which artist you like. The artist that receives the most votes has one of their paintings selected as the next round's painting. There's no practical reward for completing the quest, aside from adding in your vote for which painting you'd like to see rotate into the next cycle. Just don't be upset if you don't vote and the painting that's available next isn't to your liking.

Museum Painting Locations
  1. Lilas Dinhint: Bestine (-1086 -3686). Bestine Museum Curator.
  2. Vanvi Hotne: Mos Eisley, Lucky Despot Square (3312 -4655). Paints plants.
  3. Giaal Itotr: Mos Espa, Hotel (-3101 2184). Paints Tatooine sights.
  4. Kahfr Oladi: Mos Eisley, Bank (3475 -4970). Paints Mon Calamari faces.
  5. Kolka Zteht: Mos Entha (1521 3259). Paints buildings (Residential House, Blueleaf Temple, ???).
  6. Klepa Laeel: Mos Espa (-2768 2110). Paints wild plants, only the plant itself.
  7. Boulo Siesi: Wayfar (-5239 -6566). Paints the Golden Petal series.

SWG Painting Guide v.3
Galactic Gallery Listings

Interested in seeing some of the available art up close and personal? In this list you'll find the locations of various galleries and exhibits that players have put together.

Beyond the Da'Vinci Art Gallery which I run myself, I can't guarantee that a listing will be accurate or up-to-date. As such, if you've contributed a location to this list please be sure to post if the exhibit is no longer available, etc. If any of you visit one of these locations and they're no longer there, please also let me know so I can update the list.

If you have a gallery, museum, or any sort of exhibit that features predominantly art, please post or PM me with the information (in-game name, description, waypoint/planet, and server).

  1. All Servers

    • Helen Goldenfield's ranch - Not a player museum but worth a look I think, there's lot of art painting in this ranch at 5000 -4700 on Tatooine. [side note: this is the ranch from the Mark of Honor quest].

  2. Ahazi

    • Tajah - Ahazi's museum is the Fallout Bay city hall on Corellia (6900 -1600).

    • DarkDeathDude - I have a copy of at least one of each of all paintings available, and about 4 extra Twi'lek ones in various sizes/border combos. The location is 3348 5515 on Dantooine.

  3. Bloodfin

    • Rorinooky - Hi all, my collection is nearly complete, I have all the paintings that are released on Bloodfin so far. Check out my museum at -90 -3000 on Corellia.

  4. Bria
    • V'Tal Fion - The Da'Vinci Art Gallery was the first exhibit to showcase all existing art on Bria, and continues to be updated as new pieces appear. If you're looking to see just how much art is out there, feel free to make a character on Bria and visit. The location is -1347 -5524 in the heart of Da'Vinci City, Tatooine. The nearest Starport is Bestine, and from there you can either take a shuttle to Da'Vinci or ride/walk less than 2km. You can find more details about the gallery in this thread.

    • Cil - Come to the CoReb Museum situated at fort serenity on Dantooine - waypoint is -4627 7211, a little over 100m from the shuttle - to see a complete collection of art, I don't have the same pieces with different frames, eg twi girl and advertisement, I didn't want to overload it with the same pictures to be honest. There are also other artifacts and a selection of armor on display too. Come visit, you won't be disappointed.

    • Carnye - The Dancing Rancor in Legion's Retreat on Dantooine, Bria has a pretty good collection of Artwork (-1067 90). I'm missing two of the 1 Yr anniversary (got doubles). I do have all of the paintings that have spawned on Bria (Blue Leaf and Ronka haven't spawned yet afaik). I have a few of the multiples, but do not generally display them due to the restriction of flat surfaces in a Cantina. I have quite a bit of the other loot available in game on display as well.

  5. Chilastra

    • Deecee Creator - I have every painting available on chilastra, in Canejo museum -1145 -4236, 2k from Dantooine Agro Outpost. Many rare items are in my museum, I also have rare items for sale on my gift shop vendor.

    • Revolver Ocelot - The Galactic Museum of Antiques features all known paintings on the server, rare and not so rares, bugged and prenerf items, and a fairly large gift shop. The location is -4619 -6612 on Tatooine (?) [Tus'kens Bane]. Many rare items are in my museum, I also have rare items for sale on my gift shop vendor.

    • Riff - The Galactic Institute of Arts Museum is complete with every painting and collectible on display. Located at -6615 -195, 2k out of Theed on Naboo.

  6. Chimaera

There is now a building exhibiting computers. The Tatooine gallery has finally got the "spear display". The just about completes the acquasition of all the new items. Excellent work thank you.

I do have a couple of questions, if you dont mind. First, what is the "spear display" mentioned in the Corbantis gallery notes, and does anyone know where to get it from?

Second, I would be very interested to know where/how the picture of the Trandoshan Warrior was aquired; the one shown in your "Spotted on Test Center" listing.

T'val, thanks for keeping the painting guide up......it is a great tool.   I'm really coveting the TC only paintings, I want 'em NOW! Anyway would you mind updating my museum location? Our city's name changed and I have the exact wp.  The new name is Phoenix City and the WP of the museum is -4316  3265   just outside Theed Naboo.  I have every piece of art and painting, minus the Jabba's variations.  No room for all those twi'leks   I also have a coveted "Spear Rack"  Thanks

vvvedge: My pleasure. You did a great job taking over for Ackis, and I know the community appreciated it. I'm glad you like the new format, it's something of a trademark for me.

GadonThek: I certainly don't mind questions, if there's one thing I'm good for it's knowledge.
  1. The spear display (aka weapon rack) is a limited draft schematic that was quite rare when it first appeared, much like the first bubble tanks. It's still rare on many servers, and the drop rate is definitely lower than bubble tanks. It's found as random look from Dantari tribes (Janta, Mokk, Kunga, etc.) on Dantoine. It's crafted by Weaponsmiths and is single-use like all the other draft schematics. Here's a snapshot of the schematic itself, and here is the finished rack.

  2. The Trandoshan Warrior painting appeared on the Test Center very briefly (a few days) and was then removed. While it was available, I believe it dropped as random loot from from a Bounty Hunter marks. We hope it'll reach live at some point, along with the rest of the TC pieces.
Captain Ritter and Randale: Added and updated, respectively.

Zasm, Merk, SkinnyManDo, Jerbaka, Bush'Wacker, Quendi, and everyone else: Thank you. It's a labour of love for art, much like it was for my predecessors. I hope you enjoy it and that it helps some of you at the very least enjoy viewing some of the great paintings out there, if not acquiring them yourselves.
