1. Foreword

First I just want everyone to remember that nothing is 100% so dont expect this to be a fool proff "I WIN" button, and I also want to say that this isnt the only way to PvP with pets. This guide is written based on my strategy for using my particular template so I encourage all of you to expirament and find what works best for YOUR play style. Now that being said lets get on with it..........

Ok the most important thing to remember is your opponent WILL UNDERESTIMATE YOU (espically if you wear the MCH tag). Most hardcore PvPers think of MCHs as noobs or just plain weak so I use this to my advantage. Since they think pets are worthless in PvP 7/10 people will leave them alone in duels and focus on you leaving the pets free to do there job of landing states and even if they do decide to take them out it will take a few seconds to do so which usuially gives me an extra 3 or 4 mind shot advantage over them (since I use a 511 pup'ed Jawa thats makes for a very noticeable advantage).

My template is Mater Rifleman, Master Creature Handler, and Medic 4/4/2/1

2. Gear Preparation

PvP is quite different from PvE in the respect that the roles of you and your pets will be somewhat reversed. You are going to have to get used to tanking for your pets so this means 30% stun armor with a preffered 80% base and use a 4 pice composit suit (helment, gloves, chestplate, and boots) and migrate your stats all to mind (1000, 1000, and 1000 if human) now go buy KD food, chornahulla, brandy (with a 45 min duration or greater), systhsteak, and Ithordian mist just to name a few foods that will be needed, these are usuially all I use.

3. Pets

Get yourself some good BE pets for PvP. It might cost alot (I've got close to 2 mill in my datapad) but the end result will be well worth it. The pets I use are 3 gurreck triplets with ar1 and 55% and up kinetic resist with the following combo of specials. Each combo is on a different pet for a reason which I will explain later.

Pet1

dizzy/blind

Pet2

strong poison/Intimidate

Pet3

cripple strike/stunning strike

4. State Information

The 3 main states that you are going to want to land right off the bat are Dizzy, Stun, and Intimidate so if you setup your pets and macros like I have; then keeping these states allpied should be relatively easy. Lets look at what all of the states our pets can apply in a little bit more detail

All Important States

Dizzy - This state prevents your opponent from burstrunning which is great if your fighting a def stacker and this state also helps keep them in a KD state.

Stun - This state lowers your opponents def mods, damage (or so im told), and makes them much easier to hit. This state is crucial because in PvP every shot counts so you'll want as many shots to hit as possible

Intimidate - This state is also all important because it further lowers your opponents def mods and cuts the damage done to you by half (50% damage reduction). If your opponent has a good weapon this state can literally mean the difference between a deathblow and victory

Less Important States

Blind - This state reduces your opponents accuracy and makes them hit you less often which is a good thing.

Strong Poison - this causes a 110 str health poison. It dosent work on command and isnt very usefull but, it will help in unbuffed duels.

Cripple Strike - This causes a posture down effect (standing to kneeling then kneeling to prone) and is only usefull after your opponent is stunned because it takes 2 sucessfull hits of this special to do a full KD which is difficult to do when fighting a stacker.

5. Macros

Most people will tell you that looping macros are a BAD thing in PvP, but you need to remember that these people are also NOT MCHs. Ok now make sure your toolbar has 2 rows cause ur gonna need to make 10 macros/hotkeys. F1-F4 are my main attack keys, shift+F5-F8 are where the looping tellpet macros will go, F5 is where my healing macro goes, and F12 is where my looping headshot3 macro goes. trust me when I say using a pause of 0.1 or no pause at all in a looping tellpet macro is a bad thing. Ive lagged my machine so bad from running all these macros without a pause that I actually got the "Connection to SWG lost" message before. Not only does it cause lag it also backs up your pets combat queue and makes swapping between specials difficult. Now lemme tell you what to put in the macro text.

Here is the format for writing the macros

-------------------------------------------------------

MacroName (all notes will go in ( ) )

macro text

-------------------------------------------------------

PeaceStand (goes in the F1 box)

/dump;

/ui action clearCombatQueue;

/peace;

/stand;

/healdamage;

PostDown (goes in the F2 box)

/dump (keeps you from stacking already running macros and lagging out your machine)

/ui action toolbarSlot11;

/tellpet come; (the pets follow me comand)

/ui action toolbarSlot16;

/ui action toolbarSlot17;

/ui action toolbarSlot18;

StuningStrike (goes in the F3 box)

/dump

/ui action toolbarSlot11;

/tellpet come; (the pets follow me comand)

/ui action toolbarSlot16;

/ui action toolbarSlot17;

/ui action toolbarSlot19;

HealMind (goes in the F4 box)

/dump;

/tellpet come;

/ui action toolbarSlot10;

HealDamage (goes in the F5 box)

/ui action clearCombatQueue;

/healdamage;

trick (goes in the F11 box)

/tellpet trick1; (the pets trick1 command)

/macro trick; (no pause is ok for this 1 macro)

HeadShot3

/headshot3;

/pause .8; (sometimes lag will cause you to autoattack in between headshots so this keeps 2 headshots queued at all times)

/macro HeadShot3;

dump (goes in the Shift+F4 box)

/dump;

DizzyBlind (goes in Shift+F5 box)

/tellpet dizzy; (the pets dizzy command)

/pause 1;

/tellpet dizzy;

/pause 1;

/tellpet blind; (the pets blind command)

/pause 1;

/macro DizzyBlind;(my macro name)

IntimPoison (goes in Shift+F6 box)

/tellpet intim; (the pets intimidate command)

/pause 1;

/macro IntimPoison;

Stun (goes in Shift+F7 box)

/tellpet stun (the pets stunning strike command)

/pause 1;

/macro stun;

Cripple (goes in the Shift+F8 box)

/tellpet cripple; (the pets cripple strike command)

/pause 1;

/macro Cripple;

6. Pre-Duel Preparation

First get doc, musican, and dancer buffs(it would also be a good idea to get poison/disease buffs). Its important to remember to take 2 brandy right after the mind buff so you can give yourself time to digest it in case you need to take another or something else later on. Now right before the duel call your pets and take an Ithordian mist then some KD food followed by sysnthsteak and/or chornahulla if needed.

7. Strategy

Start off the duel by pressing the F3 key which will activate your headshot macro and the Shift + F5-F7 macros which will start the duel by applying the 3 main states to your opponent. Now run like a squad of Krayts is after you since the BIGGEST mistake you can make as a ranged fighter is to stay still, because it will make you MUCH easier to hit and if you keep a 30m distance from the meele characters they literally caint touch you.  Watch you targets status box and the second you see the stun state appear press F2 which will cause pet3 to use its cripple strike special. When you have finally landed a KD or when the stun state wears off, whichever one comes first immediately press F3 again. Its important to swap as soon as you land a KD because if your pet lands another posture down it will actually force your opponent to stand up!

When KD immediately press F1 then wait a second or 2 to see if it worked, because if you try to stand while dizzy you will KD yourself even if your already standing!  This is also why you shouldnt use F1 as your regular heal key instead use F5 since you have no chance of KDing yourself with it.  I find that I have a better chance at getting up if I peace first and if your KD youropponent is probably on top of you shooting/beating the crap out of you so thats why I included a healdamage in the macro so you will heal immediately after standing.

If you notice your pets mind is getting low press F4 to immediately heal there mind then swap back over to one of the combos of specials depending on the situation.

Remember to follow those guidelines and burstrun when those Meele characters get to close and you should stand a decent chance of winning.

8. Stregnths

With this setup you will have one main advantage over most other templates in 1 on 1 duels. The ability to land states without swapping weapons or having to stop hitting mind. Every other template will have to either swap weapons occasionally which will leave them veurnerable for 5 seconds or swap to an attack that dosent hit mind which gives you a few extra seconds to regenerate your mind pool.

9. Weaknesses

There are only 2 classes in the game that I have difficulity beating. Jedi and CMs, my advice to you is not to fight Jedi ever, because you literally have no chance against a Knight due to saber block and the retarded damage multiplier they get against pets which lets them hit them for 16K damage (no im not kidding thats the actual number in the combat log). And as far as CMs go, they just give me problems because they are simply overpowered in PvP. Also this setup is only really usefull for 1 on 1 encounters so if your going to a large scale PvP event just leave the pets at home.

Jedi hit pets for 16000 dmg ??

that is truly insane.

I personally hate fighting Jedi, CM, Riflemen, TKM, Swordsmen and Fencers. All of them can virtually 'insta-gib' my pets... oh and me
