Okay Commandos, the KB is a how does this work sort of guide, for SWG. I'm gonna start this little sticky thread so you can toss out questions on HOW does this system work. *Like how do I use grenades or what is the Left and Right range of our Cone attacks, etc.?* So start asking guys

I guess I can start this off:
     1.  How does our launcher pistols not have armor pierce?
 
     2. What is the point of having special weapons like gernades, Rocket Launchers, etc when they are innaccurate as hell and dont do half the damage as other weapons that are avaiable to other classes using specials?  (not to mention our weaopns are expensive as hell.
 
    3.  Are any changes coming in the near future? Because its sad when a running riflemen has better accuracy then  a kneeling commando with a flame thower using a cone 2 on a target 3 meters in front of him.

Why do over half of our weapons not work indoors? All of our Heavy AP weapons are outdoors only.
 
What is the left/right range of a cone attack? The animation for flamecone is very broad but doesnt seem to cover near the amount of area that it appears to.
 
How can a grenade "miss" when it blows up right next to the target?

How can CMs throw their poisons/diseases from over 80m yet we are limited by throwing our grenades 32m.

How exactly are we to be "avoided at all costs" as the description says. We are nothing to fear with the advent of decent armor, decent buffs ( not even required anymore ), BLEED NERF, and soon to come fireblanket?

Based on that last 'how' if you'll notice it was entirely based around the flame thrower so that leads to. How can you justify giving us one partially working weapon then getting the nerve to nerf that even further when it's virtually ALL WE HAVE.

Why doesnt the HAR have AP? The name is HEAVY acid rifle for god sakes. 

I dont care about DoT, I think they were overpowered anyways and I'm glad that they're gone, but I am interested in how wide the flame cone 2 spectrum is, and why it's not effective at all.

why dos the flame thrower  have a delay aftter specails  why isnt it like the llc with no delay after specails 
 
how come the bh get  more + speed mods then we do for there hw arnt we sapos to be the hw experts
 
why is the hw specails limeted to 16m when melee can hit 20m with lunge shouldn't the hw be 32m!?!?!

Why am I master commando?  I get flamecone2 but I gotta have my targets right on top of each other to hit em both and even then I only do that 20% of the time.

Lol, guys I think this was supposed to be  aconstructive area where we help noobs figure out how to use our, well, broken profession as good as they can by informing them of diferent things like the flame cone radius (that is a good question by the way) and we turned it into a venting post for us to go why is commando worthless.  lol  Its funny because we really are worthless and there isnt much you need to know to use the only thing that works, flamesingle/flamecone.  That doesnt even work entirely so here I'll tell you all you need to know...

1.  Burn as many people/things as you can befor you die cause if you are pvping, you are going to die, may as well go out helping your partners.

2.  Flame cone works in a very narrow radius and then its still picky.

3.  Those of us that keep commando even when it is broke is not an indication of a conspiracy performed by us to keep our power secret, rather its the fool hardy or dedicated belief that we one day will work as we hope, abandon the thought now or be parished as me and others such as Garvin to fight the endless battle with little hope of gaining any ground.

There you have it.  Commando is simple, dont try to complicate one special that works.

On  a side note, Why the hell do I keep talking?  All this talk and nothing has ever gone our way.  I am wasting my time.

Let's see what i can add.

Things won't take dmg from an AE attack unless they're in combat.  Meaning don't expect rockets to onehit all 4 of those little rebel resistance agitators who are standing in a tight little group (no matter what your combat spam or visual damage says). 

Everyone has armor.  The flamethrower is nothing more than annoyance to someone in armor with buffs and novice medic skill.  Make sure you have some other skills from other professions if you're going to fight players.  You have to points to join the Jawa Rifleman's Association and be a novice medic.

Prepare to be disappointed each patch

Q. How to be effective at PvP as Commando?
A. Pick another combat profession in addition to Commando. For example, TKA, Rifleman, Pistoleer/Smuggler, Fencer, CH, Carbineer, etc
 
Q. Why do we need back up profession?
A. Commando attacks are power, but yet slow. Most use Commando attacks to complement their other profession, with the exception of CH. CH uses their pets to take aggro, so they can kill the aggros.
 
Q. What other non-combat profession helps?
A. Medic, Scout, etc. Medic for reasons that are obvious. Scout for terrain bonus, creature harvesting, and camping.
 
Q. What backpacks should I get?
A. Tech Packs. Those bottles looking thingys make us look like we are really wearing a flame throwing tank.
 
Q. How do I increase my attack accuracy?
A. Kneeling is the best. Standing still. Moving will worsen the accuracy.
 
Q. How do I increase my attack damage?
A. In PvE, catch the NPC when they are lying down, sitting, kneeling, and shoot them in the back. (Last one is up for debate.)
 
Q. How do I ensure my target is not standing?
A. Pick other combat profession that has posture change effect or Knock Down attacks.
 
Q. How do I slow down the target?
A. Use /warcry and /intimidate skill from the unarmed profession prerequisit. Other methods involves scout's trapping skill/traps (for NPC creatures only.)
 
Q. How do I approach and get near target to use the 16m limited special?
A. Use /suppressionfire1 skill from Marksman prerequesit. This can force them to sit, and some case lie down. Can be down with the flamethrower and the acid rifle. Suggestion is to use a faster speed weapon, so you have more chances to force them down while you get in close for the flaming kill. Alternative is to let the flamer do auto attack while you run in.
 
Q. How do I do more damage to the target with the flame thrower outside of the 16m range than the normal damage?
A. Use your marksman skill of /overcharge1. Beware, this will degrade weapon conditions quickly.
 
Q. What other skills can I use from Marksman that will work with the flamethrower and the Heavy Acid Rifle?
A. /pointblanksingle1, /pointblankarea1, /suppressionfire1, /threatenshot. Basically, the novice marksman box, and the range support tree skills all work with the heavy weapons. Pistoll skills works for the Launcher Pistol.

Why is it that our profession description stats that we can build grenades, when in reality we cant, for futher proof of this read the combat medic description in the holocron.

Q: Which heavy weapons are most practical?
 
A: The Rocket Launcher and the Heavy Particle Beam Cannon are pretty much the only two Heavy Support Weapons that you will need to use. Both are most effective when used at a medium to long range (about 48m for the HPBC, the RL is les picky after you go back 48m and is generally accurate beyond that range.) Use the HPBC as your general purpose HSW, and only use the RL on GCW targets such as AT-ST's, Turrets, etc as they are very costly.
 
Also bear in mind that none of these can be used indoors, so plan accordingly when adventuring. Obviously you're not going to be able to rely on them alone when fighting anything, so plan accordingly as well.
 
Another important thing to keep in mind is that you won't know how accurate you are going to be until you're actually firing, as such, I highly recomend taking great pains to ensure that you are in ideal range (use your target indicator and radar to help determine how far away you are.) Don't waste a shot on anything that's moving, you have a very small probability of hitting it, even at master.
 
If you're rich and can afford it, the RL is more accurate than the HPBC as well, so keep that in mind. In PvP though, don't expect stellar results when using these weapons, as they tend to miss alot, don't one-shot incap when they do connect (most of the time), and have a rather high HAM cost in comparison with conventional arms.

How do i get to master commando quickly?

Go up the flame tree as it is our only saving grace(and not really after nerfs). Get to flame single 2 and then go and buy a bunch of grenades. Use the grenades to kill lairs, you will get close 3k combat exp a piece. Also another nice trick is to have a Master CH, friend his pets to you, thereby giving you command over them. You can easily make master in under 2 to 3 days. Note:You will never use the grenades again after this. Now will you use any of the other weapons/abilities you obtained for master commando. Flame Thrower is it.

1) Why dont we, after 8 months, still have no skill mods/specials for the weapon deemed long ago as our "primary weapon"? (the LP)

2) Why is the HAR less damaging than FT yet has Zero AP and no DoT whatsoever?

3) Why do proton gernades hit me MORE than my target?

4) Why did the hvy weapon stack go from 200 to 30?

5) Why are ham costs so high for Gernades/Hvy weapons, when we can outdamage, and out AP in some cases with a PISTOL @ pistol tech 3 in fraction of ham?

6) Why are there no counters?

7) Why is there not the faintest hint of unarmed skills in our class?

8) Why is the majority of marksman not represented in commando like BH? (Carbines + pistols + range = 3/4 of MM, we really only use 1/2...pistols/ranged)
